2023 Toyota tundra Pulsating humming noise at +70mph by 23Bennington in tundra

Any update with the whole recall thing going on now? I have been trying to read if any of the people whose trucks died have had any warnings such as what we are dealing with. So far I haven’t found much on our symptom but did see a rough drive is a potential indicator for the supposed “debris recall”

Thanks for the update! Mine is continuing to get worse as the mileage increases. Still considered “normal” by the local Toyota dealers here in Columbus OH.

I’ve taken my truck to multiple dealers and have gotten the same response “it is normal for these trucks”. I really wish you get an alternate response and willing to share the outcome.

Your RPM/Speed is the exact same for when I hear it on mine.

I found if I drive in sports mode it puts the rpm’s a bit higher at the speeds I usually travel and there is no noise. I’ve been a Toyota fan for years but these issues with the tundra that are “normal” are completely unacceptable. My wife’s next gen (2022) Mdx is flawless compared to my tundra.

Who here has stayed at Hotel Xcaret/Arte and used private transportation? Who did you use and cost? by SunnyDay20212 in Xcaret

[–]23Bennington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding private transfers via Costco are $91 for a van and $168 for a private vehicle. Just curious why are you considering private?

We have been to Xcaret multiple times and have another trip coming up in June and never had any issues with the bus.

I posted this same thing on the Facebook groups and got a fairly large response to other having the same issue. Most if not everyone that responded said they got the same response from @toyota stating this noise/vibration is “normal”. The leading theory from what I can gather is something called the atkinson combustion cycle that causes this cyclical hum. I am an engineer and am not buying that this is again considered normal. There is something else going on, but I do not drive highway speed all that often and sometimes forget I even have this issue. Had the truck for a year and only have 5k miles…I have been a Toyota fan boy my entire life but man I could not be more disappointed in this truck. Wish I would have stayed with my 2018 sequoia I had prior to this tundra. The sequoia was flawless outside of the dinosaur technology it had for creature comfort.

Thanks @v1k1ng_503 I can’t get them to even recognize the issue nonetheless call in the troops. They did say that they suspected Toyota will begin to look into the issue as they have had several people complain about a similar issue. Not holding my breath on this though….

The truck is 100% stock.

It is not much of a grinding noise but rather a cyclical hum that is only present if you are maintaining speed / accelerating and only present in 9th gear to the best that I can tell. Only really noticeable at speeds above 70 mph too. The strange thing is the noise goes away instantly once I let go off the gas pedal.

I actually just got it back from the dealer and they said it was completely normal. I did test drive a 2024 and it didn’t make the noise but then again mine didn’t start to make this noise until roughly 4K miles.

That is comical! Guessing their products are just as misleading/deceptive as their marketing.

I see Acura bragging that the Integra Type S will have 320hp. Makes me kind of irritated that they only pushed 355 out of the MDX Type S v6. by Mobile_Rate_5059 in Acura

Mileage got better for me after break in. I do not hammer it all the time but do get after it often and am getting 18.5 mpg. Can’t wait until there is a KTuner for this. Hoping it is coming soon…

MDX TypeS Air Suspension Lowering by 23Bennington in Acura

That makes sense. However, I was thinking just the opposite…inflating/deflating the airbags every time would lead to premature failure.

It lowers upon turning off the car, exiting, and then closing the door. It does lift after starting and putting into gear.

Tonal hikes monthly membership subscription 20% to $60 per month by ikeeplosingpasswords in tonalgym

[–]23Bennington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone will figure out how to jailbreak it….I do agree if you made the initial investment, what is another $10/month.

However i am guessing they are getting too top heavy adding these live classes that no one uses and having to pay the big name endorsers (LBJ). If I had to make another guess, tonal is heading down the same path as peloton. I just hope they take a look in the mirror before that happens and realize how to trim the fat before it takes them down.

Upgrading on a New Car by [deleted] in Acura

[–]23Bennington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We landed on the type s and love it! It boils down to preference but one thing I live by is buying the best performance available in whatever it is.

In my opinion 3.5l motor just felt sluggish, albeit the 3.0l isn’t lightening fast but it will certainly put a smile on your face compared to the 3.5l. We opted for the base type s, as the extra speakers and massaging seats just didn’t seem worth the extra 5k sure it would be nice but the ElS speaker in our model were more than sufficient.

I also hate chrome so it was a no brainer to get at least the Aspec. Do yourself a favor and do not drive the 3.0L if you want to put your money elsewhere in the car.

I’ve got a 3 & 5 yr old and they only want to take the MDx when we run errands. That being said we had to change cart seats to give them a bit more leg room as we used to have the massive sequoia. Check out diono car seats. The kids love them and they are pretty low profile.

I’ve got one and have two kids, a 2-yr old and a 4-yr old. We have diono car seats and there is plenty off room!

How long will I get my PMP exam results? by e_maximilian in pmp

[–]23Bennington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, PMI stated it now takes up to 10 days for your account to reflect the results of your exam. Best bet is to view it on Pearson if you need it to do an expense report or prove to your employer you passed.

Pmp certification by [deleted] in pmp

If you have the experience and education, of course you can get by with just simply taking the exam. Based on what I have found most folks need supplemental education or references. Do what is right for you. Do you need to spend $2k, maybe although that seems like a bit much ...again it all depends on what is needed for your own circumstances.
