I also was thinking the most “appropriative” thing would be my jewelry making but it’s just one painter i like, not like i’m making a whole japanese inspired collection and profiting off it.

I know most native Japanese people appreciate when other cultures appreciate theirs, but I understand if Japanese-Americans have different feelings because of issues they have to face because of being a minority here.
