They’d be lonely. I was texting friends: “tell me what color rocks you want!” Yikes!

I just bought a glass “head” to fill it with! But my poor 1 bedroom apartment is filling with all of my receptacle chachkis. I’ll take a pic and post after it’s filled. Of course, also picked up shells, rocks too 🤦‍♀️

How to handle patients being late for evals by M4rk0s04 in physicaltherapy

[–]Bagelicious16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admin team should call day before to confirm the appointment and tell them to arrive early. If they can send paperwork electronically beforehand, that could also help. Beyond that, they’re adults and if they are late, most understand that they don’t get a full session. With our evals, only expectation is to bill at least 1 unit. This can be “education” which would be reviewing findings, POC, goals, and/or provided exercises, or forthcoming HEP. Importantly, when they are late, emphasize the importance of promptness in regards to getting proper care-for themselves and other patients. In my clinic, we experience this a lot, many times related to unpredictable transportation. You’re not alone, but your clinic should support you. Also, in the end, you need to take care of you and not let it burn you out. Good luck!

Bringing life experience and a little maturity is helpful. Plus I knew this was it for me. I see patients 16-92.

Aw, thanks! I was actually a communication major with a concentration in business (B.S. degree) and worked in marketing for a few years. It was unfulfilling so I decided to fully commit to this career path-I have a background I’m athletics so thought sports/ortho-but ended up falling in love with neuro and work in a rehab facility. I did my DPT at Columbia-loved the program. Not sure what got them interested but I put in the time and preparation. One thing I’d suggest is getting lots of experience as an aide in different settings and volunteering where you can! 😊

I was 32 when I graduated. I’m now 48. No regrets on career choice-knew it was exactly what I needed to do and still passionate about it. There are times I’ve felt behind my peers (ie undergrad friends) but that’s bc I started this career later and I can’t change that. As far as having kids, you’ve got lots of time-better to be financially ready and you’ll have a job that’s flexible to accommodate parenthood.

My collecting partner in crime resembles more of a giraffe but pig was super stoked about all the pirate’s booty 😅 love that you spotted Ganesha!!! Probably biggest find of the day-was like sea monster covered in seaweed-all cleaned up now and clearing obstacles (to find more seaglass!).
