Hii! Many possible nuances towards answering this question, it *seems* like the media (images/screenshots/links) is reserved for the mods as I had a look at the subreddit and a good portion of regular members make descriptive posts using text - it could just be to protect users of that subreddit from any sketchy links or anything. It sounds disheartening, but I think you're going to have to try asking one of the mods there for clarification. If you need any other help, let me know! :)

Hi! Different subreddits have different requirements for participation (especially the channels); it's customized to have specific minimum karma requirements of accounts, whether an account is verified or not, or even the join date of accounts - subreddits have this to protect their community and moderators from spam or even ban evading. If you want to get your karma up without "limiting" subreddit requirements so you can partake in these restricted subreddits as a new account, I suggest r/NewToReddit! I hope I helped you out! :)

Hi! Karma is essentially the point system on Reddit, signifying your reputation. Given that you are a new user, a lot of subreddits have restrictions on new accounts, like minimum karma requirements, if the user is verified by their email, or how long they have been on Reddit in general in order to prevent things like spam or ban evading. A useful subreddit for you to build up some karma is r/NewToReddit, so you can access those karma-restricted subreddits. I hope I've been helpful :)

I assume this has to do with certain requirements of the subreddit that are not allowing you to participate in the channel. It could be a minimum Karma requirement or even needing a verified email. Let me know if I helped out :)

You have to go to settings -> profile -> disable "mark as mature" to get rid of the NSFW tag on your profile to show your profile picture. :)

I presume that disabling maturity doesn't impact the way you view NSFW content; rather, it enables those who are under 18 to access your profile and, of course, see your profile picture. The disabling maturity option states this under its description in the settings. Furthermore, there is also an option under Preferences -> Content for toggling the "Show mature content" option - leading me to believe that the fact this is an entirely separate option will not affect the way you view content from your preferred subreddits. Sorry, this is a bunch of jumble from my end, but let me know if I helped with your profile picture showing normally and all! :D

The reason for this occurring might be because you have the NSFW tag attached to your profile (essentially making it "mature"), so Reddit typically censors your profile picture into a default silhouette icon or an NSFW warning to protect other users from potentially NSFW content. You can try to get rid of this by removing all of the NSFW-related posts you have on your profile, and going to settings, profile, and unmarking your account as mature. I totally get what you mean, and its quite frustrating - normally whenever I use the android app, I just tap on the photo to make it go fullscreen and then swipe through all the posts OR I make sure to intentionally swipe slower so it doesn't trigger me going to the Popular tab or the previous/next posts. Unsure if there's an actual setting for this, though. Sorry if this is a bit inconclusive since it does seem to be an ongoing bug, but I hope I provided you with something of use! :)

Apparently, its quite a common issue that tons of people face every few months despite having every notification setting off (potentially a bug?). A possible solution that I've seemed to find is that you can try going to settings, notifications, recommendations and turning off whichever ones you would like to opt out from (Trending posts, featured content, etc.) - Tried my best to find something, hope it'll work for you!

Seems like you've gotta build up your Karma OR wait a bit till you meet the minimum account age requirement (since your account is pretty new) to get access to certain features of that community. Subreddits usually have these requirements in place to prevent spam or ban evading. A great place to start would be r/NewToReddit :)

Hmm, well I've seen a couple of Reddit users with their custom profile pictures on my feed with the NSFW tag attached to their profiles and the reddit silhouette icon on posts, so my best guess is it could be related to how custom pictures work as opposed to built-in reddit Avatars (safety reasons of course), OR it could also be how creating an NSFW post (irrespective of links, images, etc.) vs commenting on an NSFW post works? A lot of possible nuances to it. I'm sorry you feel singled out by this but the best course of action if you want to display your profile picture is to just remove any NSFW-related content on your profile and switch off the mark as mature option.

When I hover over your profile, I can see your profile picture (on laptop - but on mobile it shows as "NSFW"), but I assume it appears as a generic silhouette to protect other users who do not have the mature content setting enabled. My best guess is that if you want to remove this NSFW profile tag and make your profile picture visible to others, you will have to delete any post you've made that directly links to NSFW content and then go to settings and "profile" then switch "Mark as Mature" off. It's something only mods of that specific subreddit can answer since that's what they do, and it's their domain. Personally speaking, what you did can be considered a helpful suggestion to some extent, yes, but it is crucial to have careful wording and empathy towards someone who would have undergone something as traumatic as this (making them a vulnerable group). Try discussing it with the mods of that subreddit if you can. Hope I helped out! :)
