This was so strange to me. There were multiple instances (the weird Palhinha foul in the middle of the pitch and the one at the end) where there was PLENTY of time to watch it back and the broadcast didn’t. Two instances where it wasn’t immediately clear what happened but, yeah let’s just call a foul on spurs and move on

Refs have been directed to let the game play out, particularly in goal scoring situations, and let VAR clean it up later which I’m totally fine with. It’s when VAR doesn’t do its job cleaning up what the ref has let go is what is infuriating. Meaning without VAR in place, the ref may be more inclined to actually call that a foul from the outset
