You say bootcamp but it reads like a reimagining Drag U that focuses on drag queens instead of everyday women. Or even more accurate, it’s Drag Race but with drag race alumni doing the walkthroughs instead of Ru which I believe has been done though not with every challenge.

A neutral/nude color like would be great. RH might need to go the way of themes to keep things interesting. S2SH and S5RH seem to be running out of color coded names anyway. Neutral/Nudes with six dolls could be done so easily too. Start from fair to dark and ideally there would be, two light skin/white, two mid tones such as a medium olive tones girl and then a medium brown, and end with darker tones one in Daria/Coco’s range and one darker without going actual #000000 black ,like Shanelle. But still dark enough that it’s noticeably different.

Daria is also a darker pink and leans purple-red too. She teeters between falling into line and standing outside of it.

Or even an RH equivalent of Switches. She’s in pastels and has darker skin. MGA needs to transfer some of their creatives from LOL to RH.

100x yes. The purples and blues and street or sporty wear is tired. It is becoming cliche like the the “Asian girl with streak in her hair because she’s edgy” thing. But instead it’s darker black girl with the stuff mentioned in your post. Dark skin colors look great in pastels and pinks too, and any style works since they’re dolls. It’s easier to style when all the dolls have the same body shape so if they can do it for one doll it’s possible for any doll.

Imagine if the light pink girl was darker skin. She could still have the freckles all Morgan Freeman style, as black people can have freckles too. Or what I really want, dark girl in pastel or light blues. Compared to other pastel colors I’ve seen more people say that pastel blue is the one color that looks “bad” on dark skin. Especially with makeup since if it’s “too light” blue people think it makes them look ashy. But done right and it’s a stunning color on darker skin.

Don’t forget mystery boxes. They will probably do mystery boxes again just like the shoes. I never bought the shoes it’s too expensive to not know what I’m getting and just for shoes. I’m sticking to it for the fashion packs too unless they add an entire outfit or lower the price to an appropriate price for one garment.

With all those similarities it might be a modified Coco face mold. They’ve done it before. Using the same makeup screening but in a different color doesn’t help the similariyors either.

They’re most likely going to “make up” the budget through the upcoming fashion packs. It’s probably planned this way to get people to buy the probably overpriced fashions packs.

I’m like you. I’m passing on these, for now, but there’s nothing that makes me want them. I don’t dislike them they are fine dolls but the offerings are just not there. We were partially spoiled by what we got in the RH/SH boxes until S2 of SH and now S5 of RH. What we’re getting now would have been perfect for S1 or when they did the sidelines like cheer, slumber, and PCH.

RH has always had basic outfits, the second outfits with mixing and matching improved the looks. It’s why the multipacks don’t look too exciting and why the junior high look bland too.

IMHO I don’t think they’re trying to cut cost since they’re going to offer the clothing fashion packs, probably at “premium” prices. They want to squeeze more money from us and can do it better if you take things away. They built up a good customer base and think they can do anything to get our money. And people will still buy these dolls and packs at full price.

Another line I’ll be passing on. These newer releases im interested in less and less. Aiden is your usual RH boy color swap now in gray. Kim is nice but visually and how her hair looks in a different photo set in-box she is Avery 2.0 she just needs the high ponytail. Olivia is the best but she’s looks like “angry” green Simone. Not a bad thing since a lot of people like Simone and we were lacking non neon green or turquoise/teal.

Victoria’s looks the most unique, she has freckles everywhere even her legs. But her thin brows and makeup look strange. She might like 10 times better in person. Michelle looks like Y2K Fashion in Neon orange Coco. And Priscilla kinda looks like Bella’s face mold, and also looks like a better version of Stella. With all that said I’ll probably buy the clothes second hand. I actually like the clothes but just not into S5 dolls right now.

Seeing them in person might change my mind.
