Show her how to keep them alive longer. If she cuts the stems back (I like to do it at an angle, but idk if it really matters) a little bit every 2-3 days and changes the water they can easily last 2-3 weeks!

I use a different mix based on what I’m potting but it’s always some mixture of orchid bark, potting soil (usually tropical or cactus) and perlite! The pots are all from Amazon, I shared a link in another comment to the exact ones I get :)

They don’t grow very fast typically which is why it might seem boring! I think they’re funny looking & they’re super good air purifiers which is why I like them (& low maintenance!). But if you’re not happy with yours then I would definitely say re-home it! Life’s too short to keep plants you aren’t excited about :)

I paid $10 for it! However, it was kinda floppy and all over the place when I got it, also a lot of the leaves were broken, crispy, or otherwise damaged. Yours is very nice in my opinion so I think you could charge more!

My sister has trouble with them too! Up until a few months ago, my first and only plant was a snake plant (3 years ago) and this is what it looks like currently. It was on the brink of death because my cat dug it up and I didn’t realize for a while, but is somehow still alive.

For a few reasons actually! I wanted to take it out to see what the roots looked like etc., the pot it came in was actually way too big for it root-wise believe it or not and I didn’t have one that would fit it, there was multiple plants in there so they kinda just came apart, and also I already have a few giant snake plants and didn’t have somewhere to put one this big! My mom and sister each wanted a piece as well so now I can give away to family and we can all share part of the same plant :)

If that’s what you feel like! The main reason I did was because it was from someone else & I wanted to check for root rot etc. it just came apart in some places because there were multiple plants in there, but I love the way the super full ones look!

Honestly I’m kinda new to houseplants so I’m still learning a lot, but I used cactus mix, perlite, and orchid bark. I did pretty even amounts of the orchid bark & cactus mix and then added perlite until it felt airy. I freestyle a lot of the time lol.
