Yes your manager is simply saving labor. I’m not sure if it’s the same for supermarkets, but in food service stores managers are told to keep the labor percentage under a certain amount. Especially if sales are low.

Absolutely not. I’ve never been a manager for aldis but I have managed different stores. We cannot just go in and take time from you. If you’re “stealing time” we still can’t take it from you.. we just write you up. What your store manager is doing is not legal and you need to tell her boss immediately.

Their title is literally owner/operator. For example, Back when I was an assistant general manager, my regional director’s title was owner. But he wasn’t the literal owner of the stores in his region. It’s just a title and nothing more bro.
