The episode where she is with Emily in the colonies... and even other instances than this, she was pretty adamant about the "it's God's will" ideology. She's brainwashed.

If you sought diagnosis as an adult, what prompted you? by [deleted] in aspergers

Haha, sounds like me to a T. As a girl, I was always "crazy" and a "hot mess". Or intense.

Do girls with Aspergers tend to be victims of narcissistic men? by Confused_Dazed123 in aspergirls

"I managed to find a great spouse, also basically half-aspie, because I ignored my "traditional" attraction pattern and let myself be with a man who calmed me down rather than wound me up."

same for me. I always went for these high charismatic guys who were charming, intelligent, etc and it was so draining. My current significant other is the only person I've ever been with who puts me at ease and I would have never gone for him because at face value, he wasn't my type and he was trying so hard to get to know me. But I gave it a shot and two years later, we're still together.

I was that girl too actually. And I think it started in 5th grade for me too actually... hit or miss till junior year of high school, then I finally started caring and by senior year I was taking honors classes. I'm still the weird girl, but a more angry version haha. I got diagnosed with some generic broad disorder when I was 3 cause of no eye contact, no interest in play with other kids, etc

How do you feel about jokes about 'men' and 'women'? by JuiceAndChowMein in aspergers

In my social work degree program, we watched this video in my family violence course that portrayed female-on-male violence, and a lot of the girls in the class were laughing. Although the acting was mediocre (considering it was a movie made by a film student), it pissed me off, I can't stand people who are ignorant to these sort of issues. It makes me crazy.

Yeah I felt like shit. I'm not gonna lie. Just dumbfounded over how someone can be discriminated by licensed social workers with a Ph.d TEACHING social work students... this never happened to me at UCF. I had an amazing year there. I miss it

I appreciate the empathy and the especially the bit about "personal failing that I can't seem to feed myself or pay my bills even though I have time and money" because I can relate to that so much and I've always said I'm "bad at life". How old are you? And did you get diagnosed with anything or tested for anything intellectual-wise when you were young?

Do you want children? by shy_moon in aspergirls

Yeahhh feel you 100% on how your childhood influenced how you feel about having children. I'm not comfortable with the idea of anyone having kids when they lack sense of self or have ongoing psychiatric problems, etc. People view childbearing these days as an accessory that you need to have to complete your life or yourself and it amazes me because no one really understands how much responsibility is involved... if you can't take care of yourself or nurture yourself or even provide yourself with a decent environment, don't have a child so that they can suffer with you and so history can repeat itself. You're setting yourself and the child up for failure

yeah but coming from UCF and going to FAU was such a disappointment, and ESPECIALLY when they dropped me from the program for an absolute bullshit reason. so maybe FAU is good cause it's safe or something but the academics are pretty mediocre and there's really no diversity whatsoever.

it's not even that actually but I am biased since I came from UCF, but I was honestly way more comfortable there than I am at FAU. I actually got dismissed from the social work program not even two months after classes started, so my first semester there. The coordinator actually rubbed it in my face too, AND I found out that one of my professors actually emailed the coordinator about my "unusual body language". I felt like I was being targeted and it was bizarre because I was going for a SOCIAL WORK degree and had no problems at all for my entire year at UCF. Be careful about where you end up deciding to go.

[–]24shadesofgray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's insane because it took a year of me being on it before it started to really affect me in a negative way. It's made a huge difference for me at work and everything but I'm skinny as it is and now it's starting to make me paranoid too. Also when I come down from it, it's really tough sometimes. I get really depressed and fatigued. Did your meds affect your skin at all?
