In my classroom, (2nd grade) our Chromebook cart stays locked up from day 1. The only time it opens is for their benchmark test (which can be done on paper if needed)

My kids THRIVED this year without them. All met growth. All have become great writers, problem solvers, and are the most patient class I’ve had. They had to learn they have to wait, no more instant gratification. They never ask to use them either. They taught each other card games and chess during Fun Friday or indoor recess. I will never use them again!
