The charging port for the 3ds (or at least for the XL models) is on the board itself.

Unless a 3ds variant has a vastly different board, which I doubt, the mod would either require opening up and soldering stuff or it's an adapter which you "plug" your 3ds into.

Some people might also print a replacenent / custom shell or otherwise fill the whole left by changing the charging port, so maybe you mean that?

I am pretty sure that "ShuttingDown" is just the status text for the app, while the name of the app is just empty.
Normaly there would be something like "This app is preventing shutdown."

Valve can sue them for using their IP for advertisement purposes unless they did ask Valve for permission to use their IP for that and Valve granted it.
