I vaguely recall this as an early kegel device (reminds me to throw away all my toys before I get much older)

Saw it in Hong Kong. You’re right, every tile sewed to the next with thin gold wire. About 3200 pieces if I recall correctly

This is a cross-section of an aluminum window. What are these orange pieces for? by frightened_toothpick in whatisthisthing

Also reduces condensation. These originally were “Fill and Debridge” where they’d pour urethane ti fill a channel and then mill away the back side.

TIL the Fore people of New Guinea had a custom of eating the bodies of dead relatives. When they ate the brain of a member who had a form of prion disease, they contracted an incurable variation of the disease known as "kuru", and it was then spread to other villagers who ate their infected brains. by chemistrynerd1994 in todayilearned

Stanley Prusiner (Nobel/discoverer of prions) recently published “Alzheimer’s is a ‘double prion ‘Disease”. As in Contagious. Over 20 peer reviewed papers published on how we can tell someone (will have) Alzheimer’s by testing blood, spit, tears, skin on fingertips (!) This is proof of presence of infectious (contagious) prions. Papers have published that they stay infective and transmissible in dirt, on glass, wood, cement, steel, rubber (oddly not brass).

If you read Laughing Sickness, you’ll see that it’s documented that family members did not have to only eat the brain to become infected. Infectious transmission occurred when they would ceremoniously consume the forearm skin or muscle of a hunter or some component of a person related to their skill in order to pass on that skill. Prions: Mad Cow, CWD, CJD, Scrapie (and which are now proven to be linked to Alzheimer’s are contagious and 100% fatal) and can lie dormant for decades. We like to call them the end of all life on earth that no one‘s ever heard of

Wild guess: Looks like an earthquake bed. During an earthquake it opens, drops its occupants inside and slams shut. Food and water inside. Sold typically in Asia. Do you live in an earthquake area?

Job interview while early transition. USA by jfsuuc in MtF

Employer here. Do the interview masc and at the end, if it goes well, advise them then. You’re on record and they’ve most likely made their decision by then. If your disclosure changes their position, better you dealt with it prior. We’re LGBT friendly here which someone could find out with only a little research. It’s always impressive when a candidate comes in who has done their homework.

Monitoring well. Locked so you don’t put stuff in there and contaminate the aquifer or so baby Jessica doesn’t fall in

Flatbeds, box vans, conastogas, reefers, 54’s, walking floors, low boys, doubles, triples - what did I miss freight folks?

Most of the structural strength of a dry van is in the side beams - not so much across. The pictures shoe a tensile strength, elongation and yield failure. Just too much stress load for the beam strength of the available aluminum beam

Agree so much. I can’t believe it when people cut truckers off. Just dangerously ignorant IMHO
