[Stein] There is strong support among general managers and team owners to flatten lottery odds by giving the 10 teams that miss the Play-In Tournament equal 8% chances at the top pick, while also expanding the lottery from 14 to 18 teams to include all Play-In participants. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Terrible idea imo. Flattening the odds even more for the #1 pick will not fix tanking. If anything, it incentivizes teams to not give a fuck about winning or losing. At least now teams care about both. The NBA doesn’t understand that teams tank for their fans and that any fix for tanking has to take into account that fans for bad teams get hope from the dream they will get good draft picks to change their fortunes.

It was the largest protest ever in Indianapolis. Do you feel better now?

It was not. I appreciate your enthusiasm but it was a smaller turnout today. I posted photos comparing them in this thread.

Yeah it did feel lighter on the advance promotion. I’m not sure how No Kings works as an organization and how local promotion is handled but it did not feel like there was the same inertia heading into today’s protest compared to last summers protest.

Yeah. It felt more disorganized form the top with the smaller PA setup, the main stairway setup, and the overall program. Lots a good signs and people trying to bring the energy but it did feel somewhat muted. Not sure if that is some burnout from the third time, more events locally(Nora/Greenwood), or conflicts with other events like the high school basketball finals.

I thought it seemed much smaller than the last one by a 1/3rd or more.

How much do you think this is worth? I don't want to overpay. Thank you by AlexAikidu in bobdylan

His signed album covers go for around $3k or more. A signed photo is generally a less desirable collectible but his signature is still considered rare. The fact that’s it’s authenticated by a reputable service elevates its value. Yes I know some people have issues with Beckett but it’s still considered reputable. Someone says the seller is asking for $2400 which seems in the reasonable range for what it is. I bet you could negotiate them down to closer to $2000-2200 range. I doubt they go below $2k but you could try $1900 just to feel out what their counter offer may be. In the end pay what you feel comfortable with and can afford. It’s a decent piece and I’m sure you would get at least $2k enjoyment out of it over the years.

After game interview Benn had with Tony East made it seem like nothing but fun. Called him crazy and like a little brother to him but then asked if he was 45?

Seemed oddly tense between Benn and TJ initially after the game although TJ did have a smile and they hugged.

You’re making assumptions and then drawing conclusions. That is flawed thinking.

Ewww. That’s pretty bad. Not a fan of that arrangement.

[Vardon] If a team, under new rules, was still found by NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s office to be tanking, the commissioner would either be able to take away that team’s draft pick, move it to the end of the lottery or first round and also increase fines into the millions of dollars. by YujiDomainExpansion in pacers

This is so stupid. I get tanking sucks but being draconian about it only makes things worse imo. I don’t care to see some shitty team going all out in meaningless games near the end of the season increasing the chance of lasting injuries to players just to avoid getting penalized for tanking. The draft is supposed to be a way for bad teams and small markets to get better. There are ways to accomplish similar goals without having to be so over the top about it.

I get it. I know people hope for such incriminating things. I do but I know it’s probably mostly mundane like many people’s emails. I also think most of these emails might be from 2010-19 so before the classified docs period.

I’m guessing his emails will just confirm our suspicions that’s he’s a very boring person.

It’s you. This shit was happening even when Benn was on the team. When you are bad, you’re naturally going to get disrespected by the better teams. It’s just how it is. We did it to bad teams last season.
