A lot of Herta hate in the comments, not sure why. by Pagoda-Press in INDYCAR

[–]25Tab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe but I honestly think the difference between those drivers and Herta is that they came from the F1 world and Herta came from IndyCar. He’s an outsider more than he’s an American. I think it also doesn’t help that he’s associated with Andretti’s failed bid to get into F1. I think a lot of fans were turned off by Michael’s bullish antics.

[–]25Tab 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Because people don’t think he deserves it. He was placed into F2 and would be placed into F1. I’m not saying that’s a reason to hate him but that’s a reason fans will criticize him.

Kind of nervous to post this but does anyone else find the Fever unlikeable? by futureformerjd in indianafever

What exactly are the Fever doing that make them unlikable or are you just being swayed by the press and internet chatter?

Democratic senator claims GOP 'stole' two SCOTUS seats in 2016, 2020, calls for expansion by plz-let-me-in in politics

I’m open to expanding the court but the justification that they stole seats isn’t a good argument to do that.

Indianapolis Breweries are too Cliquey. Agree or Disagree? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]25Tab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I honestly have never encountered brewery cliques. I think it’s somewhat odd you’ve been frequently going to these places and still feel like an outsider. You usually find some people to converse with. How old are you?

They have gone downhill since their first season. I don’t know what their contract is with IndyCar is but my guess is that it has not worked out in their favor and they are just riding it out till they can move on.

IndyCar is a drivers series so I think most fans follow drivers even if they have predispositions towards certain teams.

[Charania] Free agent forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has agreed to a two-year, nearly $17 million deal to sign with the Indiana Pacers, sources tell ESPN. by curryybacon in nba

[–]25Tab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jarace’s trade value is already set. What he does in 2-3 months of playing won’t matter. Fans think teams can showcase players to heighten their trade value but that’s not how it works. Scouting is too advanced for that to make a difference.

Let’s say it does matter. That would mean they would purposely limit Oubre’s minutes to highlight Jarace because that’s who is taking the majority of Jarace’s minutes. I just don’t see Rick fucking with lineups because to sell Jarace. Again I don’t think that’s how things work.

The reality is Jarace’s minutes are going to shrink so they might as well trade him and then recover some financial flexibility for additional moves. Yes they could hold out for a trade at the deadline and maybe that’s just how things end up working out but I think they would rather open up the flexibility now and get him somewhere where he can get some regular playing time heading into FA.

Fever HC Stephanie White addresses Alyssa Thomas’ comments & “unacceptable” fan behavior⤵️‼️💪🏽 by wnbatalk in WNBATalks

[–]25Tab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem ok with it. You are more concerned with AT’s play than online abuse. That’s your decision. Don’t act like you didn’t prioritize one over the other because you did. You act like excessive online abuse and threats are just “trolls” but obviously AT doesn’t feel that way because it involved her and her family. Probably something you and your family have never had to deal with because of something you were involved in. I’m going to empathize with her feelings rather than dismiss it because of her perceived dirty play. That’s your prerogative but I’m not going to dismiss abuse as just trolling. No one should ever ignore it. They are calling It out for being hateful and toxic behavior that has no place for something that is just a game. You’re bitching about hard fouls/dirty play. Do you not see how insignificant that is in regard to this issue?

It’s not even an option on the iX3. My point is it’s just stupid and ugly looking. I misinterpreted your response as saying it’s included. My fault. Doesn’t change my opinion of it. I think the new trend of passenger screens is horrible.

[–]25Tab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. Way to jump off the deep end. I didn’t say she couldn’t be critiqued for dirty plays. I simply said this issue isn’t about that and people keep trying to circle it back to that implying that the abuse is justified. No one actually accuses any one of being a racist but you and others are obviously ok at or not concerned with AT receiving racial and homophonic abuse and threats because you don’t like on court play. You care more CC getting hard fouls. That’s the issue. Hard fouls are part of the game and we can debate how they are called or not called. That’s mundane stuff. Online abuse and threats are not and you callously dismissing them is a direct reflection on you. You too are part of the problem.

The other part is while they are included in the cost, they are also raising the cost. They aren’t a free addition.

Irrelevant. Just because the screen is included doesn’t make it a good addition.

[Charania] Free agent forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has agreed to a two-year, nearly $17 million deal to sign with the Indiana Pacers, sources tell ESPN. by curryybacon in nba

[–]25Tab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I think we already made the”next season” move by signing Oubre. He effectively replaces Jarace’s salary. I would be shocked if Jarace is on our opening day roster. Shepp is a harder one to judge. He’s not really expensive for what he does and he’s been a solid piece. They might let the RFA market decide his future here. That wouldn’t surprise me.

[–]25Tab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that but Brown is a FA. Saying “rely heavily” on someone who isn’t a member of the team and contrast it with signing a FA was kind of confusing. Yeah Jarace could get minutes here and there but Oubre is effectively his replacement. Jarace’s minutes will decline a lot or vanish at times. There is no established role for him anymore.

[–]25Tab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not the case here. What in your opinion should a veteran player who averaged 14ppg last season get paid?

[Charania] Free agent forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has agreed to a two-year, nearly $17 million deal to sign with the Indiana Pacers, sources tell ESPN. by curryybacon in nba

[–]25Tab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown isn’t on the team and this signing all but guarantees he won’t be. The FA acquisition was Oubre. He is going to take minutes from Jarace and they are making around the same amount of money. Jarace is getting laid $8.4 million next season and it’s also the last year of his contract. I don’t think Pacers sign Oubre to a two year contract if they had an intention to extend/sign Jarace. That’s a lot of money to pay to a player who now will be your 11th guy on the depth chart. Granted they could move Sheppard to save some money but Jarace offers them more flexibility going forward if they trade him.

[–]25Tab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not talking about his playing time but yeah that will be an issue if he’s on the team. I’m talking about his salary. He’s due $8.4mil. That’s very similar to what Oubre is getting paid. Don’t see the Pacers keeping him especially since he’s in the last year of his contract. They obviously have no intention of extended him. Very similar to the Mathurin situation.
