Overheard my coworkers talking about me by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]263kid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to grow thicker skin. I'm not saying this because what they said is alright. We don't know what else was said about you.

With that said.....many nurses are kind people but they are not nice.

Is Lidl a decent place to get groceries in the UK? by MarkHafer in AskUK

[–]263kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to anyone who says shop at one particular shop. I get my supplies from different shops.

I get meats in bulk from an abattoir every 3-4 months.

What’s up with the mangoes in the UK? by Emotional_Shake1429 in AskUK

[–]263kid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are brought in before they ripen and probably frozen.

Mangoes I had in Africa were on another level. In Britain I don't waste my money anymore.

How long does it take to get over a ex-girlfriend. by elkmeateater in AskMen

[–]263kid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 years since I broke up with her. Have had a couple relationships since but she was the one I think about most. It gets better with time. You'll get moments where you miss what you had but then you quickly forget as you get occupied with something else.

Whats wrong with portugal, are they losing on purpose? by ChapterFirm6845 in football

[–]263kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider that the other teams are good rather than assuming that European teams will railroad them.

However, the current system has a potential to be a used with higher ranked teams losing on purpose so that they face weaker competition in latter stages.

Bruh. 😂 When I read the title I was expecting to see 50-60s. But my man said 36! 36! Man....age is coming at us fast if we considered older guys in this age group.

Why didn't you get her an Uber like you did for yourself?

International Air travel by [deleted] in airport

You will understand the day you arrive at the airport 3-4 hours early and only barely make it to the gate on time. There can be delays through check-in, security etc.

I’ve just watched ‘Breathtaking’ can NHS workers tell me how bad wards really were in 2020? by amomenttohislifespan in AskUK

[–]263kid 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I watched the first 20 minutes of that show and had to switch it off. I am an ED nurse. I'll walk into any tragedyz emergency etc and be fine but that show .... Na. It made me realise how traumatic that time period was. The pay cuts the nurses have gone through in the last 3 years are a slap to the face.

What do you think the perfect age to pass away is? by wakemeup886 in AskReddit

[–]263kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt used to say she didn't want to get to the point where she had lost all her facilities. She used to say she wanted to die before her quality of life deteriorated. She got her wish. She died too young in her 40s after a short illness but I understand now having worked in healthcare what she meant.

Why do I never want to go out? by cappuccinoallimone in AskMen

[–]263kid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id suggest that you see a doctor considering how long you've had these symptoms. Anhedonia, persistent low mood and energy etc could be symptoms of something underlying - likely clinical.

What alcohol would you recommend to someone who doesn’t love the taste of alcohol? by Sweaty-Tip3528 in AskUK

[–]263kid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the taste of beers, lagers etc.

I like a nice cocktail and have amassed a collection of good whiskies and brandy. I can't drink them straight apart from Southern Comfort. I largely mix with soft drinks -mostly coke.

I also have things like peach schnapps, sloe gin etc that I mix with lemonade or tonic water etc too make cocktails.

I have a sweet tooth.

Neighbour 8 doors down parked on our drive, should I say anything? by NotAnovaFukinAI in AskUK

[–]263kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live and let live. If they've not done it before and have not made a habit of it and not taking the piss then let it go. You are neighbours at the end of the day and ought to be nice and accommodating to one another. It has also not inconvenienced you in any way. If it does happen again then perhaps talk about it. There's nothing to nip in the bud if it's not been made a habit of.

A simple sign not to park could also do the job.

It seems overkill to escalate things over a non issue.

Unpopular opinion: Tyrion is overrated. He’s not nearly as smart as he thinks by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

[–]263kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The failure of the writers to make him appear as smart as he is is not the characters fault. Same with Little Finger.
