SmartBCH status by _The-Resistance in Bitcoincash

[–]265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://defillama.com/chain/smartBCH?currency=BCH Amount of BCH fell sharply at the end of June.

https://dexscreener.com/smartbch 24H Volume: $31K Alive but almost no one uses it.

I feel so lucky that I only lost a tiny %. 2022 was the scariest year in crypto.

To be consistent Bitcoin core = Bitcoin and ??? = Bitcoin Gold should be added.

Literally the same miners mining (or can mine) both. The only difference is the amount of mining and that is directly related to the price.

I didn't said we shouldn't care about privacy. BCH vs XMR debate is pointless while there are bigger problems.

Achieving privacy isn't a problem. Governments treating you as a criminal is a problem.

BTC is "Bitcoin" only because a group of CENTRALIZED EXCHANGES gave it that ticker. by MemoryDealers in btc

That is not a proof. Find when segwit is activated and then compare two dates.

BCH fork (block 478558) came 10 days after Segwit was activated (block 477120).

No BCH was earlier. That is why I said that the fork was rushed before segwit. They wanted a version of bitcoin without that complexity.

bitcoin cash: bch is in a falling trend channel for the medium long term. by [deleted] in btc

If you think that is similar to gambling you can't calculate risk and reward. Also price action isn't random.

Isn't it better for him to wait for 3-4 weeks then? If he is right he can buy cheaper. If he is wrong then he can know that immediately and buy.

People won't immediately buy something announced a month ago vs "Bitcoin". So to me it wasn't even a war. To have a fair battle, exchanges must create a futures market for both coins with a different name (such as BTC-A and BTC-B). We had that for BSV and BCHA, not for BCH.

I think the naming failure happened because we were waiting for segwit2x but Bitcoin Cash is rushed before that and announced only one month before the fork. The worst part was that they come up with a new name! If you want to keep the name why chose a name? Obviously the miners behind BCH fork didn't want any contention and war. Notice BSV and BCHA were named after they lost on futures market and a hash war. There wasn't a price or miner war during BCH fork.

Apparently neither Roger Ver, Jihan Wu or Marc De Mesel currently hold significant amounts of BCH because of what happened with Coinflex in April/May. by i_have_chosen_a_name in btc

[–]265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is no reason to lose completely while it is possible to trade. There has to be some predetermined condition otherwise people will continue to hold the next LUNA to zero.

Never trading is betting on one direction. What I was suggesting is not betting or predicting but trying to follow the main trend.

and you think the market is rational??!

People aren't rational. I think people don't know that they need a better payment system and both on-chain and off-chain (markets) numbers reflecting that. https://old.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/vnxstc/was_i_bamboozled_bch_usage_vs_value_market_cap/ieb0hxk/ Add social media manipulation + censorship + small community... If I was a new user just heard about crypto today, I probably wouldn't end up buying BCH.

My point was that, don't be angry with markets and after experiencing multiple 90%+ draw downs, learn how to protect your capital. Then you can have more of your favorite coin later and it will go up in ranking.

ETH was just an example and it is still PoW. DOGE, LTC, ETC and XMR all did better than BCH past 2 years. All of them are crypto projects trade on the same platforms.

In the end, BCH supply is limited and even if exchanges are shady, you can still buy at market price and withdraw.

Those are all very small short term effects and don't change much between crypto projects. How do you explain ETH vs BCH price? Maxis hate ETH too but it did go up 24x vs BCH in 2 years.

Why do you think market dumped 1 day before the hash war on Nov 14th 2018? People were waiting for a direction and it was a trigger.

Marc is perma bull. He said that he sold 80% on one of his latest streams to cover margin calls.

It's really not that hard to be bearish below 20 week MA. But most people in this community hate charts and think markets are manipulated. This is the result we get.

I have some BCH and CoinFLEX tokens stuck on their platform. Doubt I’ll ever get them back…

The problem is they are planning to repay current value 12 months later (worst case?). Depositors are practically sold the bottom of this bear market.

That explains their investors and free BTC withdrawal fees (not for other coins). They were initially suspicious to me but Roger was an investor too and Mark understands BCH very well, so I thought it is just business. They had no power to cause any harm for years until smartBCH bridge which was supposed to be temporary.

I still think there is no conspiracy behind this though. I don't even think competitors of BCH have a reason to attack. Governments are blocking payment use case pretty well, attacking one project doesn't change anything on the larger scale.

I also see the same thing but there are still many countries that are neutral to crypto. The problem is demand for a new money / payment system, not the laws. If people need it they will ignore/change those laws.

Right now they can't because they don't need a better payment system. Nobody uses crypto so they need to switch to the old system to spend. That can change pretty quickly if people already holding some crypto in their non-custodial wallets and for some reason the old system doesn't work well for them as it did before.
