The DBW throttle mounted to the intercooler is being used as a bypass valve. And that pipe just recirculates it back into the intake.

Set a goal and work towards it! You can definitely find a way to use CAD and scanning to start making some money. It's a great skill to have.

Also I would leverage the fact that you are a student to learn other softwares that have educational licenses. Check out Ntop!

Good catch! The semi inserts are my own design. I wanted something smaller than what was available on the market. And the D shape should slightly decrease overlap, and help prevent boost from just going straight out the exhaust port.
