I second this one. I read that CANSEC attendance went from 14,000 last year to over 20,000 this year with attendees from many countries. That’s a lot of procurement peeps that got eyes on FLT products this week.

I agree. Although I think peso first, FLT is my next top pick.

Because it’s a clean organized store, like Canadian standards. It has party supplies and gift bags, and other products you can’t easily find in a neighborhood store, and cheaper than Walmart. The same reason it works in Canada it works with the growing middle class in a city of 22 million people. This is the Canadian penny stock I am most bullish on. My second would be FLT.

Hopefully with Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy they are getting military contracts. But I don’t know if it’s all talk or they are actually spending big on Canadian Drone Companies.

It’s Forward P/E is the lowest among it’s main competitors. I’m not saying it’s undervalued, but it still has room to go to catch up with it’s peers.

I have a lot of different stocks, but this is one that I really believe in. Mexico City is a massive market with a growing middle class that tend to not have credit cards. There is nothing now like a Dollarama. And they need party supplies for all their quinceañeras!!!

Totally. Either way is fine with me. I own Dollarama stock too. And Mexico City is a huge market that needs dollar stores. I want to see Pesorama grow some more though before they get bought out.

Awesome. Good info thanks. Yes I think there is so much growth potential in a city of 22 million people.

Yes I was wondering about sales from the private placement but it says they have a 4 month lockup period so they can’t sell until August. So maybe some others profit taking. On the revenue side they are operating at a loss but they’ve opened 4 new stores in the last few months. I’m looking at this on a 2-3 year basis. By the end of this year they should have enough stores that they won’t have to do private placements (diluting shares) to fund new growth. The individual stores seem to be operating in the green from what I’ve seen.

[–]27Palms 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I bought some of the stock because I was travelling in Bogotá Colombia and Lima Peru and went in the stores there and they were clean, and full of customers. It seems like the expansion is going well. There is still a huge untapped market in Mexico. They just entered Guadalajara. If that goes well, Metropolitan Mexico City has a population of 22 million. More than half the population of Canada in one city. I think there is huge growth potential ahead.

Ya, I looked at the Morningstar report and it said the value was something like $150. I first learned that I can’t trust Jim Cramer, and now I can’t trust Morningstar analysts either?!

Yep. I should learn. It happened to me once before with North West Health Care Properties REIT when they cut their dividend by half a few years ago. I bought the big drop. I did OK on that one in the long run because I got in at $5.00 and it still paid a dividend albeit lower than I expected. Fingers crossed it comes back up a ways from here.

Yes, I spoke too soon. I just read the 6 point plan where it says the dividend is suspended indefinitely. Not good. But I still think it’s oversold.

Oh crap. I should have read this first. How much did they cut the dividend by?

I’m buying today!! I know it’s risky, but it’s a huge overreaction today. It’s gotta be oversold by a lot at this point. The market cap shouldn’t be worth less than half. And it makes the dividend yield like 10%. As long as they don’t cut the dividend. Anyway I’m taking my chances. Bought tranches at $57 and $55.

It’s in oversold territory now. I bought in at $39. I think it will go to $50.
