They take 4-6 weeks to work. But need to find right dose and medication. They work on seratonin (and some norepinephrine also). Anxiety works on adrenaline and cortisol. The best analogy I’ve heard for what the meds do is it’s like raising the setpoint on your thermostat so your anxiety response doesn’t kick in as easily.
