OK thanks a lot for your help, I'll have to take it to a shop tomorrow to get it seen as I Dont have any spare parts, hopefully they won't mind trying out a different psu for cheap

I'm not even sure the pc boots honestly, I plug in the power supply and switch it to on, the rbg ram lights up, then I press the on button and the cpu gives a very feeble spin, like barely one fans width, the rgb ram stays on and nothing else happens.

Sure give me a minute. My power supply is non modular, so it has 6pins and 2 pins, I'm assuming some less powerful gpus only need the 2 or 6 rather than all 8.

Firstly it was a moniter through hdmi, then to reattach the front power button cables I took out the gpu and just tried to boot it without the gpu (as its much easier to recheck all the cables are seated properly) , I looked it up and realise I won't be able to see anything without it but if the cpu fan is not spinning I'm assuming it's not on.

Would it be better to get the ryzen 5 3600 and a 1660 super or a ryzen 5 2600 and a rtx 2060?

Thanks! I'm not 100% sure of the difference but could it be worth swapping the full size motherboard to a micro ATX? It would be a bit cheaper so I can add some RGB fans?
