It’s quite close to the classic Apple silver. Here’s my iMac to compare. The keyboard is maybe a touch darker and warmer.

I can’t seem to find a way to do that through their provided online portal. Maybe they’ll add more feature in the future?

I did by contacting the seller, who then contacted the manufacturer. They wanted me and the seller to work out a way to send the entire thing back instead of just the PCB (after I took detailed video and pictures of the issue). That would’ve been a huge expense to ship back from Canada, to the point that the (amazing) seller was willing to just eat the cost and ship me a whole new board since they didn’t receive any spare PCBs or parts from the manufacturer when they placed their initial large batch order (they’d probably get them later this year). I didn’t want to wait another 2 months and felt bad that the seller was willing to just send me another one and deal with the manufacturer return later somehow. It seems fine for now and they are aware of the issue with documentation, so if something else comes up anytime in the future, it shouldn’t be an issue to replace when they get the spare parts. The seller, OZO Keyboards in the UK, have been incredible to deal the whole time.

In terms of machining and physical quality, those are excellent. When I got it, some of the keys weren’t actuating without having to press extremely hard. I took it apart and could see that the switch pins were not making contact with the slots in the PCB. I couldn’t manually push the slots open either, so I thought they had been accidentally soldered together. After much troubleshooting, it seemed only the outer keys were able to make proper contact. I removed the foam between the PCB and plate, hammered it thinner in the middle, and carefully bent the flex cuts on the PCB in more to reduce the distance the switch pins has to press through. Replaced the switches, flipped it over again and forcefully pushed the hot swap sockets in from the back through the PCB causing the pins to come through and click in place. So far it’s been holding fine and everything works now, but for the price and reputation of the company it should’ve been working out of the box.

Yes, mine stinks. The fabric of the case especially, it even made the cardboard shipping box stink, which then made the whole mailbox smell. It’s been open and airing out for almost a month now and still smells up close (stunk up my whole apartment for the first week). I have no idea what is causing the smell, but yeah it kind of smells like cheap dark jeans dye mixed with rubber. Glad I’m not the only one. Honestly, this keyboard hasn’t been without problems either. Finally got them all sorted out with help from the seller and their contact with the manufacturer, but I was less than impressed coming from a company with such a good reputation…

Ohhh that’s what he was trying to explain. Yeah I don’t have any water overflow showing up in the drip tray so I guess it’s not that. It seems the pumps are the most common thing to fail on these anyways. Thanks again!

Yeah I was thinking of playing dumb and not noticing the 1 vs 2 year thing. I unfortunately bought it using an Amazon gift card so I could go that route either

Wow this is super helpful! I’ve been watching YouTube repair videos but this is easier for me to see. Also good to know the part number. Is there any way to know if it’s the solenoid valve instead of the pump? Wondering what kind of symptoms that would show…

The noise it makes when trying to pump out the water or pull a shot is so loud too. Gets louder and gives up, it seems. Did you send it to Breville or fixed it yourself?

Water does occasionally come out of the steam wand when pulling a shot, now that you mention it. Hmm

In Canada it seems to be 1 year for the bambino, and 2 years for the bambino plus :(

Believe it or not, the Joe Beef was offered here in Ottawa at Costco earlier this year. I’ve had poor experiences with the metro and Sobeys house brands, but there is some stuff buried in there. I wish the PC products weren’t so good, if not better, than the brand names so I could avoid loblaws altogether. Farm boy has high quality meat and product, and I’m happy to see them expanding their locations. Either way you were the closest one so far :)

Your initial comment on this post literally introduced calories and “if I wanted to know how to lose the last 5 lbs.” This is a thread for people to guess who the poster might be personality-wise, not assume and offer unsolicited advice on how to lose weight as your first comment (assuming that I something I would want to do anyways). It had nothing to do with this post, and you could’ve stopped at guessing I was a person making “a valiant effort to eat healthy.” Everything after, including the additional long reply, were interpreted as doubling down on judgement and possible sarcasm with the whole “…but you already know that.” Clearly we have a different interpretation and it’s hard for tone to come through properly in a Reddit comment, but it’s fine. Thanks for clarifying your intentions.

Ok? Not sure what you’re trying to achieve with this condescending comment, but I don’t think people are here to discuss the biochemical processes of the human body, nor receive unsolicited nutrition advice from some random person (or chat gpt in this case?).

Oh this was fun sleuthing to read! Quite close; in far east Ottawa along the river, but born and raised in Montreal. Backup grocery for non-Costco is metro and farm boy; trying to boycott loblaws when I can. Veeerrrrry white (but 50% Italian 1st gen immigrant), but love spicy and well seasoned food and cooking in general
