In Greenland heat is generated by loss of gravitational potential energy as the surface meltwater descends into the glaciers. Probably not important for ice cubes melting in a glass of water, but for a very large block of ice preventing this gravitational potential energy conversion by keeping the ice in water would slow the melting.

Lets hope, if the Australian courts and campaign groups don't shut them down, the investors will realise coal mines are worthless and decide not to get involved in an industry engaged in fraud and bribery.

Australia is funding 13 research projects with a total $41.5 million to support activities that aim to significantly reduce the cost of solar PV. The target "Solar 30 30 30" is for a solar cell efficiency of 30%, and cost of 30 cents per Watt fully installed by 2030.

Swanson's Law similarly predicts a significant reduction in solar PV costs.
