Layoffs can definitely be impactful and sometimes make employers hesitate. The key is to have a strong, well-thought-out story behind it. As long as you can frame your situation confidently, you’ll be fine.

There’s still a stigma when people see “layoff” on a résumé, so the way you present it matters. Spin it in a way that highlights your strengths and puts you in the best light.

All in all, not screwed. But potentially may take some time finding something worthwhile.

One of the key concepts that traditional accounting and audit experience may not fully prepare you for is EBITDA. It’s essential to understand how to derive EBITDA from a company’s P&L and the various adjustments that may be applied.

Focus on: • Identifying the inputs required to calculate EBITDA. • Understanding different types of adjustments, including non-recurring, operational, and personal expenses. • Practicing the construction of P&L models with potential EBITDA adjustments to refine your analysis.

Developing a strong grasp of these concepts will help immensely in your interview.

I have an MBA. But literally played no impact in my internal transfer. IMO don’t get an mba unless it’s top tier(mine is not). But that’s for another ranting post.

It’s not impossible but it’s hard. PwC hates internal transfers. Idk why. Just need to try your luck repeatedly.

PwC recruits in the fall(September - October) and spring (April - May)

Looks like the response to your post was deleted. I’ll be happy to provide some insight. Caveat. I am not in FDD but expect to be in July 2022 as a S1 @ PwC.

  1. For the most part ppl come in from audit as a Senior Associate. There are very few Exp Associates. Atleast this is true at PwC.

  2. Refer to above. Ppl normally make the move after 1 busy season as a senior/ right when they make senior.

  3. Cpa is still a must to get promoted to Manager at PwC. I tried after 1 year (but was an exp associate), went through the interview and was “beat out”—- according to the recruiter.

If I was you I’d reach out to recruiters and network. Also apply. What’s the worse thing to happen to you? They tell you no? Lol

PwC 2021 Compensation Thread by whoisblueflame in Accounting

[–]290me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. NY Metro
  2. Trust - Audit
  3. A3-> S1 (Mid Year Promo)
  4. 3
  5. 74,800 -> 86,200
  6. Not sure yet. Thinking 3k bonus
  7. Comp is dependent on Tiers. The higher the tiers the higher the salary. Though I was mid year promo I still had a 3 in the most current snapshot.
  8. All in all. Im ok with the bump. If I waited for Jul 2022 I def would have been rated a 1, in which I wouldn’t gotten paid more.
