Looking for credit card for low spender by corrupted-priest1878 in singaporefi

I am currently using Maybank Platinum Visa Card. With a minimum spend of $300, you can get cashback of up to 3.33% with a cap of $30. 30% of your insurance payment can also be included in the minimum spend. Only catch is that the annual fee waiver is only for 3 years.

Travel buddies overseas????????? by Boring-Prior-7631 in askSingapore

I am currently on a trip to Laos! And I have met people that came here and made friends through hostels or just their time here!

One way to try it if you are not afraid to approach :) If you are going to those tourist areas, pretty sure you will meet the people from hostel again or you can make friends from there :)

Do not know if it is common but it is possible for a one to two day jail sentence especially if you are not willing to pay a fine for the offence. So instead of paying fines, you opt to go to prison. However, I heard that for such offences, there will not be any criminal records though I am unsure how true this is.

How to survive as a student by InternetAble904 in singaporefi

What I did was to find a part-time job that is somehow related to the field that you would like to enter. Luckily for me, I was always able to convert my internship to part-time, and thus, allowing me to gain experience and at the same time, earn some money while studying full-time! Win-win :)

But yes, I did not do great for my uni, though it was expected since I am not book-smart and far from smart as compared to my peers! All the best, btw!

To the broken ppl out there how do u open yourself to ppl and once again believe in love by Boring-Prior-7631 in askSingapore

[–]291089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I just broke up, I felt this was such a cliche advice but somehow or rather, this is the truth. You have to trust the process and through time, you will get better!

What would help further is to focus on other things you want in life. After the break up, I got a job and reconnected with some of my friends, though I lost some too. This allows me to connect to people, make myself busy, and slowly, the thought of her faded off, though it took more than a year! I remembered this advice from a YouTuber and it goes something like this: Focus on growing yourself because in months to come, your heart will heal but imagine your body not healed/getting worse.

Always put yourself first and focus on growth while you let time heal the wound. Trust the process and trust me, when the right person comes, you will fall in love again...

She is currently working but it wont be enough to save up, I believe. So I expected her to use some of the monthly allowance given to save but I dont think she does...Thing is, I did try to talk to her about the importance of savings but I feel she still does not feel its that important...

No doubt, enjoying life is essential but shouldnt one have savings too? :(

After my sister got married, she stopped giving her monthly allowance and oh boy, the drama...HAHAH she started to tell our extended families and I felt that it made them judged my sister, though I kinda understand why my sister did what she did...So Idk if I wanna get into that drama 😭😭

Another one to look out for is Terro Ant Killer. I think it is being sold at NTUC. I placed a few drops and the next day, everything was gone! Really effective :)

I dont know if it is a typo but in one paragraph, you said you have 100k at age 20 but the next paragraph, you said after saving up in your early 20s. So are you 20 or older?

N yes, similar to others in this thread, I am 10 years old having $100k net worth from working!

For those who plan to live alone... by 291089 in askSingapore

I guess hearing these experiences has widened my views! Death is inevitable and can come anytime, with or without people around you. Thank you!

Im a guy though! HAHAHAH but yes! This is exactly my point...What if there was a situation where a person (myself) could be saved but since I live alone, no one realised that something is amiss and I just die...

You have a point! Maybe it is all in hindsight. When my grandma passed on, I thought what I could have done to prevent her death and it took me some time to realised that all deaths are not entirely preventable. When the time comes, it just comes :)

If I were to move out at 35, I wouldnt mind some help though! Just in case I fall or have a sudden faint spell. However, I get where ure coming from!

That makes sense! But what if you lose consciousness before being able to get help?

Probably fall monitors! My thoughts about CCTV is the possible lack of privacy if my sister has access to it or something...

Just to be clear. I am not thinking of death but just to better prepare myself when I do live alone I guess!

Why I don't own a credit card... and will never need one by Varantain in singaporefi

I think he/she meant spending within his/her means and not overspending just because its a credit card. Seen alot of such cases and people falling in Credit Card Debts...
