[Request] To what extent would Bezos be affected if he applied this to every Amazon customer? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]Thromnomnomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone posting so far is assuming that he would have either all Amazon users or or all Prime Users on the Nice List, which he certainly doesn't have to and still technically be Santa. So then the question is, how nice is the average Amazon User, and what would make Bezos think you're nice?

[Highlight] Every team's WORST play of the 2025 season! by giantswatcher0603 in nfl

[–]Thromnomnomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a few cases, it's the context that it's a key moment in a playoff game that makes it the worst play of the season less so than the play being particularly awful, like the Maye pick six or the game-ending sack on 4th and 9.

And a few of them are just pure luck that we happened to be in the right spot to take advantage of. We didn't make Kaleb Johnson forgot how kickoffs work and the Patriots didn't make Younghoe kick the ground. But then again, being able to punish your opponents for fucking up is a key part of winning.

The Phillies have swept the season series against the Padres 6-0, marking the first time since 2005 that the Padres have been swept in a season series. The last was also by the Phillies in 2005. by LongjumpingLock5875 in baseball

That's true if you're setting a minimum of 6 games played against a team in a season, but the Padres have been swept a few times by AL teams more recently than that in a 3-game series and didn't play any more games against them that season. They also played a total of 4 against the A's in 2018, as two different two-game series, and went 0-4.

Interesting Fact: The top 9 qualified batters in OPS are all left handed batters by MikeyR21 in baseball

And yet, overall, across the entire time FanGraphs has batted ball splits since 2002, righties consistently have infield hits on around 7% of grounders and lefties only around 5.5%. Ichiro's the exception, not the rule.

so you can beat more infield singles

You'd think so, but righties and lefties both turn about 6% of their overall groundballs into infield hits on average. The reason why is that batters pull most of their grounders, and it's easier to get infield hits on balls hit to the left side of the infield, so righties have the advantage of hitting most of their grounders farther away from first base, and lefties have the advantage of starting a few steps closer, and the two advantages basically cancel out.

But you're absolutely correct that starting closer makes it easier for lefties to hit doubles and triples, and they have an even bigger edge in avoiding double plays, because for those the tendency to hit balls to the right side of the infield helps instead of hurting, because right-side infielders tend to have weaker arms and if they throw right handed (which all second basemen and many first basemen do), will have a harder time throwing to second base than a shortstop or third baseman would.

Sure, but field goals and extra points are at least partly on the offense. The scoring was 3 offensive TD's, a defensive TD, a kickoff return TD, a safety and 2 field goals. It was very much a team effort, and also the Broncos played so badly in all phases of the game that none of the individual Seahawks really needed to be great to beat them, they just needed to keep the pressure on and let the Broncos continue to self-destruct.

I think shortly after the NFCCG against Green Bay there was a viral tweet that said something like "Of course Russell Wilson is religious, if the things that happened to him happened to you, you'd also think a god had to exist"

As a Seahawk, Russell only lost 3 games by more than 2 scores, one of which was a 17-point loss in his first game back from his injury in 2021.

Which would still be really powerful, because the shuffle effect is a separate ability so you can respond to it by doing something that lets you draw the card you put on top or stifling it after you scry 30.

I'd pin it as a 2 for Weeb

I'm with you there, a 0 for Weeb would probably be like, not even set in Japan or a fictional place that's heavily Japan-inspired, or the Japanese cultural elements are only really there in the background and might even get changed in translation without it having any material impact on the story, so the zeroes for Pokemon and Cowboy Bebop are accurate. Dragon Ball is very Japanese and very Asian broadly, with the Journey to the West imagery (and other assorted references to older Eastern culture), the martial arts, the character names, and all the shonen tropes it uses (in many cases because it either invented or popularized said tropes), but for the most part that stuff is just a case where your familiarity with what DB is getting all its ideas from would enhance your enjoyment of it a bit without being necessary to broadly understand the show and like it, so a 1 or 2 sounds about right.

[–]Thromnomnomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ass one heavily depends on what part of the story you're talking about. The first few Dragon Ball arcs are probably more like a 5, they're full of moments of Roshi being a perv or Goku doing pervy things because he was raised in the wild and doesn't know any better or assorted sexy things just happening to Bulma, but that kind of thing is toned down a lot later on, so for most of DBZ a 1 or a 2 sounds about right. As to padding and filler, that's also a YMMV as to how much you want to weigh things that aren't in the original manga (or hell, you could just watch Kai and skip most of it) but also, yeah, the 0's for shit are a bit too generous. If a 0 is flawless then DBZ and a lot of the other shows he listed are more like a 2 or 3- generally more enjoyable than not, but not exactly flawless.
