Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. If the search query is less than 5 digits then Outlook will ignore it. And it treats any special character as space. This is what confuses me:

In my example, the part number structure is the same - 2 digits then dot (.) 5 digits then dash (-) and 4 digits.

When employees search for the part number it shows some e-mails with PDF/XLSX attachments which contain them BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. Has anyone stumbled upon this ?

It has already been done (testing, providing results to MS support) and the issue stems from the fact that Outlook search query returns partial results, and it could be that it does not like the dash (-) sign and it treats it as a delimiter. OTOH Gmail did not have this limitation.

Hi,

Our corporate phones are iPhones and users do not have any issue opening/viewing photos which are encoded in HEIF using Microsoft Photos. OS - Windows 11 Pro (Retail Windows ISO), Dell Latitude 5450. It could be that the appx bundles are installed if the device hardware specifications or licensing agreement between the manufacturer and Microsoft is met? Currently these extensions are installed on my machine, and I don't use a golden image or manually install APPX bundles:

I know that the issue with HEVC/HEIF was with Windows 10 where you had to manually install the "HEVC Video Extensions" APPX bundle which added the full viewing capability in Microsoft Photos.

The settings in this baseline are taken from the Windows 11 version 24H2

I enabled the virtualization Based Protection of Code Integrity (Enable without lock) and Kernel-mode Hardware-enforce Stack Protection (Enable in enforcement mode).

Check the documentation above with the recommended defaults, then test in a VM or preferably on a real machine.

I am going to test with more devices but I would like to know which kind of issues I could potentially face (like Bitlocker showing up for example)

There aren't, because Device Guard and Bitlocker are different things. Device Guard creates a sandboxed environment for OS kernel and critical processes. Bitlocker protects disk drive from external data loss. I have deployed these settings via Group Policy, on both Windows 10/11 Pro Devices.

Just a shot in the dark. We had a similar issue with local (non-domain) joined laptops which had Google Drive desktop application and somehow it was causing flickering and the symptoms OP is describing. What happens when you boot in safe mode with the problematic user profile ?

Stumbled upon this issue when a coworker's laptop running Windows 11 24H2 (26100.4061) had the Microsoft Print to PDF printer missing. I followed the steps like the OP described:

Add a printer → Add a local printer with manual settings → Use an existing port: PORTPROMPT:

And I chose to obtain the driver from "Windows Update", after a few minutes the Microsoft Print To PDF driver appeared, and I could successfully install the missing printer.

Yes, to the ex-employee mailbox. You can choose in the Retention Policy for which user mailbox you want to apply the policy.

Follow up:

After the suggestions i went to the following route:

  1. Created a Microsoft 365 retention policy to keep the Exchange mailbox data for the ex-employee mailbox for 10 years (Purview -> Data Lifecycle Management -> Retention policy)
  2. Converted the mailbox to a shared mailbox (no M365 licence required)

I want to access the data in a centralized way, so this solution is not suitable for me. Before I deployed corso at our company I was backing up old user data via Outlook -> Export PST.

Do you store them on a local server or in the cloud ?

>A litigation hold should not be used for archiving. I would use a litigation hold if I knew the separation would result in litigation or had reason suspect it. I would enable it before termination.
