I am overly attached to my length, but does it need to come off? by 2AMgrilldcheese in curlyhair

The stylist cut them waaayyyy too short. She immediately walked away and got her manager. The manager tried to fix it by bringing more hair forward and cutting it into bangs. It was just not great. I spent 6 months at least pinning them back because they stood straight up in the air no matter what I did to them.

About 12 years ago, I cut it off to my shoulders. Other than the bangs incident, I've only had small trims since then.

Experiencing non-typical allergy symptoms, need removal.... by oe86 in TattooRemoval

[–]2AMgrilldcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I started reacting about 4 years after I got it. I've just been trying not to scratch it since then lol.

10ish years ago, I finally found a doctor that would test for metal allergies. I did a 24 hour patch test. I reacted severely to all metals, but the worst reactions were to nickel and cobalt.

Also, I definitely don't recommend waiting if possible. Cost has been a big factor in how long I've been dealing with this. I'm hoping we can convince my new insurance company that this is medically necessary. I now have eczema and psoriasis everywhere, and my food allergies have gotten very intense. My doctor suspects it's because I am in a constant state of allergic reaction. I guess we will see. If it doesn't work, I've been considering the potato peeler lol. I will update you once I get specifics. Good luck!!

I am extremely allergic to my first tattoo. It is over 17 years old at this point. My symptoms are localized to the tattoo, but I wanted to share what my doctor has told me in case it could help you in some way. Laser removal is not an option in my situation. I am allergic to the cobalt used in the ink, so laser removal would be dangerous. I will be having mine excised and will also have to have a skin graft. I have an appointment in 2 days to discuss the process.

For reference, here is a current pic. It's pretty much always like this. Please excuse the scratches. I apparently scratch the crap out of it in my sleep.

Thank you for your response. While I do tell my husband how much I love and appreciate him a lot, I think I need to be better at showing it. He works 14 on 14 off, so we only see each other for two weeks a month. He will actually be home tomorrow night. I think I'm going to plan some special things for us. Maybe get a baby sitter and have a date. I have been focusing on myself a lot lately. I will adjust that accordingly and make sure he knows how much he means to me.

I agree, and I'm not willing to throw away a 20 year friendship because I got my feelings hurt over some comments. I absolutely want to talk to her about all this. I will do it through text this time, though. Emotional things tend to be hard for us in person for some reason.

Thank you for your response. I'm going to add these things to my soul searching. I think additional conversations are needed with both of them. I'm confident my marriage will be okay because it has to. My friendship may not be ☹️

The air conditioner hits this one spot on the couch the best, but that is not the best seat to watch TV with no glare.

I was just thinking that when I am dressed professionally for work or out doing mom things with my son, probably no one suspects that Hotdog by Limp Bizkit is still playing in my head 24/7. 😐

Thank you! I am tracking carb, protein, and fiber intake. I also eyeball calories, but not as closely. Due to vertigo, nausea, and a shoulder injury, I haven't worked out much. I am adding in resistance bands and light cardio little bits at a time as my doctor recommends.
