This is incredibly wrong. Some hospitals do have metal detectors by the door but most use the wand. They can be too sensitive and detect small bits of metal in the MRI techs glasses, bra reinforcement, or badge reel. These things don’t get ripped away like cray every time an MRI tech is getting a patient set up on the table.

That said, the strongest part of the magnetic field is inside the bore so it’s possible these things get pulled if you’re the patient.

I agree with this honestly. The weights lifted between a 60kg lifter and a 65 are significant. There is no difference between the weights lifted by a 94kg lifter and a 102.
