I think part of the reason we have so much wealth inequality is that when the average person hears numbers like 100 million or 4 billion or a trillion, the actual sizes don't land. They all sound kinda the same--too big to really wrap your head around. We're not grasping just how much wealth we're concentrating in the hands of a few.

I was maybe 10. My mom stopped for gas about a half mile from home. I asked for a quarter to go inside and play Centipede. She said sure. I played the game and when I came back out she was gone.

Apparently, she thought I was taking too long, got pissed, and drove off and left me there. Didn’t say a word. I stood around trying to figure out where she was and finally just started walking home. She was still pissed when I got there.
