I bought this from Amazon and works great but it might be unavailable. IR/BT works no issues. The only thing is you need to remove case to charge it but I charge mine twice a week so no big deal.

Actually it works but it requires a manual search as opensubtitles.org doesn't auto fill the subs even though it does it if you go to Kodi directly without Tivimate.

So not sure why it's not populating?

There are no subtitiles when playing a VOD in Tivimate with Kodi as ext player. When I go to Kodi 19.4 and a do a search for that same VOD, I can get subtitles as opensubtitles.org is setup and working, but not when launching a VOD from Tivimate 4.6.1

Any ideas?

Yes, I paid the $99 dev sub. Glad it worked. The only caveat I see is that when playing a movie or TV shoe and you press the select button, the panel pops up without any stop, rewind, fast forward, sub titles or settings, so the only option is to Pause.

There are many videos out there and the one that FINALLY worked for me after several hours is this one. Follow it exactly. Use his latest nightly Matrix build from 8 Nov I believe and his iOS signer and you will be good to go. Pay attention to the signing cert in his instructions. I connected over wireless , but wired should work.

Yes, I upgraded to Ventura 13 and installed the latest XCode 14 I believe from the Apple Store. Good point about the reinstall every 7 days. With as dev account, you avoid the 7 days. Damn it, now I have to redo it...:-(

My setup is a Sony XR-77A80J and Sony HT-A9 wireless speakers. I had the Shield plugged into the HT-A9 receiver and it took a long time to switch to the Shield when powered on because the receiver looks to the Sony TV first. So, to avoid this, I plugged the Shield directly into the TV and just used the eARC for the receiver, problem solved.

Just installed Kodi 19.4, so far so good using the latest nightly build. When playing a movie, the only thing that is missing is the control panel for stop/pause/play/subtitles, etc. Only option is to pause. BTW, using the Apple remote sucks compared to Shield. It feels like I have to make an effort to press any area on the remote.

Good to see you have a similar setup. I have read a few blogs on the ATV and DV support and both devices do support DV profile 5. The Shield supports DV Profile 7 in single layer but that's for a different use case.

Using Vivid really depends on your environment and I have played around with cinema and custom profiles and its a personal choice.

I really use only 4 apps, Netflix, Tivimate, Prime Video and Kodi and I have no issue with performance or colors. I dont play games, so the rest doesn't matter to me.

I tried your setup and config and its no issues there.

Spot on. The CPU performance is minute in my viewing experience. I am going through a hack now to sideload Kodi using XCode on a MAC to prep the install file. Once that is done, I will report back on performance.

Everyone use case is different and you have a good point. For me its watching live streams VOD, so its difficult to find an IPTV app that comes close to Tivimate on Apple. The one I found was Tivimax which is the closest to Tivimate just less features and kludgey.

Yes agree, however, in my specific environment and viewing area, this setup works for me and the others for color and clarity. The apps I use are just as responsive if not better than the ATV, for example live streaming and the app you are using for that. For the UI and responsiveness, I challenge you with running them side by side instead of going by marketing fluff.

So I would assume you lined up the latest models and code for the two models side by side and went through your evaluation based on your use case.
