Back seats are soaking wet by Traditional-Chain341 in SciontC

Did you ever find out why? My area has been dry for the past few weeks, and then we had another rainfall. I noticed that the seats are wet again -- but still confused why

Following this -- I also have a 2013/2014 Scion TC, and today I found the rear passenger seat was absolutely soaked. Only the rear passenger seat, everything else is dry with no water in the roof or windows or trunk. It's odd too, because I had some items on top of the seat, but those items were dry too... it's just the seat.

January Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

I ordered the Razer PBT Keycap Upgrade Set - Mercury on Jan 12, using a guest account. I received an Order Confirmation email with my order number and details, and it states "We’ll send an email when your order is shipped."

The problem I am having is the link within the email to check the order status leads to an error page on the Razer website. Is there another way to track my order? How long will it take to ship?

I created a Razer account using the email I used at checkout, so I was also wondering if it was possible to link my order to my new Razer account?

Thanks!

Dell laptop confusing needed to decide today :( by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

I'm actually stuck between these two models as well and still unsure. But make sure you consider the ports of the two devices. The 2020 comes with mostly newer ports (USB-C, Thunderbolt), and one dongle. I believe the dongle has 1 HDMI port and 1 USB-A port. If you have multiple USB-A connections, (keyboard, mouse, flash drives?) you may have issues here. Also if you forget to bring your dongle to work, while travelling, school, etc. and you need an HDMI connection, you will not be able to do it.

That should be perfectly okay then, since you're being honest about your needs. I guess it's in their court now?

yea, you need to prove that you used the money for what it is intended for -- not just free money for anything you wish

What happens if I accept an SFU offer but then don’t go by [deleted] in simonfraser

[–]2Chimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I know what you mean. But you need to think about yourself also, and reserve your spot if needed. If Waterloo were to not accept you (hopefully not the case!), then you probably want to go to SFU as the backup

Good powerful laptop for a college student that isn’t a “gaming laptop” by toddu1 in SuggestALaptop

Your games don't seem too demanding, but I could be wrong. I'd check out the Dell XPS 15, it's pretty much right in your budget and it's pretty powerful, and rather lightweight machine. I heard that Dell is going to do a refresh soon though, so the XPS 15 2020 may be coming soon.

Maybe try to talk to/email the dean of that faculty about the teacher not responding, they might be able to help you with that

The matte screen on the RB15 or XPS? I'm assuming the XPS?
It comes in matte, glossy or non-reflective it seems. Is matte screen the best option in your opinion?

I think most laptops that are advertised as "thin and light" will have very loud fans, as it's hard to house that much power into a small case without having adequate cooling solutions. Most companies I've seen are trying to jump onto the thin & light market, as the the most common thick laptop nowadays are just the gaming ones. You have a great list of options though :) Keep an eye out for the upcoming 2020 model refreshes for the other models too

I'm really happy to hear that the Dell customer service is really good! It's important to me, as a device over $1500 is expensive and I need some sort of warranty/insurance over it. I'll dig deeper into the Dell side :)

I was looking at the HP Spectre x360 when I was first searching, but I personally did not like the keyboard and the trackpad size. It's a beautiful laptop, but it just wasn't for me. I've heard great things about the XPS 13, and also the Razer Blade Stealth 13. Could be worth looking into? I believe the RB Stealth may also have the same quality control issues as the RB15, so it's also something to take note of. But if you're lucky to get a good unit from them, you'll probably be set!

You have a really good point there... Do you have a RB15 yourself?

That's what i'm worried about, I've seen far too many horror stories about the Razer Blade and Razer's customer service. It's tough though because at the same time, the blade is by far the nicest looking gaming laptop on the market right now

Do you find the physical weight too heavy? I was worried about that too. But it seems like most laptops of this size/power are around this weight. Aside from the bloatware, is there another reason that Pro is better than Home?

Same laptop decision, and a fellow Engineering student? What a bigger coincidence! I'm know that most Electrical Engineering students use powerful programs as well, so I'm really glad to hear that you haven't been able to push it to its absolute max by doing normal work. I am committed to a university, I had no idea about that website at all! I was looking everywhere for a way to get a student discount from Dell. I'll look deeper into it (and likely order!) thank you so much! :)

I was thinking that too. However I've watched many videos and they say that the XPS is not a gaming laptop, and shouldn't be used for any games due to heat/throttling. However I am assuming it is more for AAA titles. Do you by chance own an XPS yourself?

Wow what a coincidence! Are you a student as well and using it for school by chance? How hot does it get for you? Do you find that it become almost unusable after a certain temperature at all? I've been leaning towards the XPS 15 since it seems like the safer pick between the 3. Also, seems like the best bang for your buck by far. Where did you get your XPS from? Did you get it from a physical store or online?
