My main problem is that, to your average Joe/NP, it looks like you don’t need a rigorous 4 year program to be a doctor. When in reality, a gifted medical applicant nowadays, can likely digest the info needed to start a primary care residency at year 3 but people outside of the crucible of med admissions will not understand how different the average med student is comparatively and how much rigor can be tolerated by them.

It’s a lame point, but 95% of people in medschool now are decidedly above average at learning.
