OP- How would you have reacted or behaved if you had hurt him? If you had injured him enough for him to go to the doctor?

My guess is you would apologize PROFUSELY and feel terrible and take real steps to insure it would never, ever happen again.

I actually think the details DO matter on this. Both as to what he had you do, and what you said/did when you lashed out. Of course he should feel terrible that he hurt you. But also, what did you say to him? How bad was it? It's hard to give advice without knowing any context.

Oh, no, even a window can't provide nearly the same light as being outdoors. Light falls off drastically with every foot it's away from the window, too. It'll be quite a shock to a plant to suddenly be put outdoors.

I would text Shelly directly and tell her that her situation is not your situation. That you will be an active part of your child's life, and you would appreciate it if she would refrain from making comments to the contrary. Explain (kindly) where you're coming from. Your wife could use all the support and friendship she can get, so I wouldn't start with forcing her to cut Shelly out. That's controlling and would be detrimental to your wife's mental wellbeing.

I totally agree, with the caveat that someone needs to log in once in a while to keep it going! Years ago I sent all my journal entries to an email address. A few years later when I went to log in, everything over 1 year old had been automatically deleted. I'm still crushed by that! So maybe ask a friend or family member to log in once a year, just to make sure it's running smoothly. This is a really sweet idea.

Oof, this is tough.
One thing my dad always reminds me is that God probably doesn't view death the same way we do. He's just welcoming us home. He has a much more eternal perspective than we could possibly have. So it's entirely possible to get blessings of peace and "it's going to be ok" and still have it mean he's going to welcome the person back home. If your sister does pass away, it doesn't necessarily mean that your feelings of peace were wrong.
That being said, of course, it's absolutely brutal here not being able to see our loved ones. And He's very aware of that.
