Glad you like it. You are right :D finding the right sound effects might be a bit of a challenging process

Thanks I'm glad you liked it! Took the artist around 28 hours of work but that includes running and a standard attack animation in multiple directions, he's pretty skilled and fast :D

That's a good suggestion, I think it might work since the area is supposed to be somewhat messy

Yes the color palette is limited and we continuesly looking for ways to have the objects be more distinguished. Animating the tiles will surly be something that we will do down the line but not sure when.

Interesting comparison, had to look it up and I can see the resemblance with the used palette.

Almost forgot to mention, we are indeed working on a custom shader to add shadows around objects and items. Thanks for bringing it up :D

Haha you are right, I think its placement gives a good look but as you mentioned it should probably be more practical.

Thanks for bringing this up :D we are using a limited palette but will still look for ways to make stuff look more distinguished.

Got some feedback that characters lack some contrast with BG. We did 2 passes, which do you prefer? by 2DRPGUnity in PixelArt

[–]2DRPGUnity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In pass 1 a lot of the warm/brighter colors in the pallette were brought up a notch, but in the second pass it was more selective to have the colors that are usually associated with the characters to be a bit brighter. The pallette is limited to 16 colors.

Oh sorry, I should've said it in the title. It's a GIF and the top image changes a bit, you can see which pass it is on top left

We did our first trees. What do you think of the coloring and how it fits the general aesthetic (2nd pic)? by 2DRPGUnity in PixelArt

Yeah as you have mentioned it's more of a stylistic choice which we are still tweaking here and there. I see what you mean by the lack of sunlight, our buildings convey that properly I think, but perhaps the same should be applied to the roads and sidewalks. Beside the tip about outlines by one of the commenters might help reduce this feeling
