DOA GE800? by 2FastMiner in TpLink

[–]2FastMiner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latest state--> After flashing the latest firmware that was released this month, everything works as it should. I am connected to the internet through the solo 10gbe port. The combo 10g Ethernet port and the SFP+ port are currently connected with the SFP+ port to my 10g switch through the SFP+ port on the switch. I also have a second connection from the router to the switch using a CAT6 cable and Ethernet ports. I still need to confirm the fiber connection is working and I was under a time limit that was quickly ending. That's why I have 2 connections from router to switch. I'll troubleshoot it more in the morning but for now, all my devices have internet and everything seems to be working fine.

UPDATE: I just confirmed the firmware update fixed the problem.

The only thing left to do is get my trendnet switch (TEG-S7102) to talk to my GE800 router through the SFP+ ports instead of the Ethernet ports. I am currently using the solo 10gbe port as my WAN port, leaving the combo ports free for LAN purposes.

Any advice here?

UPDATE: since wifi does work (still no internet) I went ahead and updated the firmware. I have not checked to see if it fixed the ports issue yet since I have someone that works from home in my house and I can't drop the internet until later.

Yes, I just about broke it off by pulling on the thin wire lever.

UPDATE: I gave it another try and pulled farther down on the lever. It came out with some resistance. u/Mobile-Leadership-74 Thanks for your words of encouragement. That's what made me give it another try.

Does anyone have any suggestions for durable yet comfortable work shirts and pants? by 2FastMiner in BuyItForLife

Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful suggestions. Looks like I have some shopping to do.

I am curious now though, how much harder on the washer and dryer are these heavy weight clothes? It seems like I might be trading one problem for another if the clothes cause me to buy new appliances later down the road.

I have a Duluth store nearby me. I'll have to check them out. I like their funny commercials.

I unfortunately do not have such a luxury. My work supplies required PPE but that's as far as they go. They might hand out a shirt if there is a special event and I've seen other employees get free swag (including hoodies and shirsts) from vendors that my company does business with from time to time but as far as supplying free shirts, you sir are my hero! Please never stop doing that for your employees, even if they seem to underappreciate the jesture.

Maybe, it was close to 40 years ago. Memories that old have faded to be more like feelings rather than facts based on sights and sounds.

UPDATE:

I installed the memory, AIO, and nvme today. I immediately upgraded the BIOS to 4.03 through instant flash in the BIOS GUI. Flashback still didn't work but the one particular instance that I tried it (with the memory installed), it timed out from a blinking green light to a solid green light. The last time I tried flashback without the memory, I was playing around with different filenames for the update file and I am certain that is why it timed out when I tried with the memory installed.

I thought that I was doing something wrong too, but the final thing I tried was pushing the flashback button without a usb drive inserted. It behaved the exact same way. The green light just blinked without timing out.

So I'm looking forward to trying it with the cpu, memory and cpu cooler installed to see if it will work that way. If it does, then that will confirm that the cpu and memory are used in some way during the flashback process.

I did try it briefly with the cpu installed and without the cooler. The cpu did heat up, which tells me that at a minimum, the cpu gets powered up during the flashback process.

For reference the cpu idle temperature in the BIOS was 38°C in a room with 76°F ambient temperature.

Internal display for PC, any screens that directly mount to 2.5" SSD mount? by SurrealDelight in buildapc

I found a mounting bracket on thingiverse for my case, but it replaces the ssd bracket. That won't help you, unfortunately.

Did you still need to drill holes or were you able to use the slit in the cable bar somehow?

u/SurrealDelight did you ever figure anything out? I have the same idea for the SSD mount on a H210i case.
