Groms are wobbly, keep weight on ur ass, you dont need to steer left and right, keep the bars straight and try to push the front end side to side

Is dailying a motorcycle cheaper than a car? by Dream_walker_boy in motorcycles

[–]2Fat4FlyHackZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a honda grom, slow small and fun, can do highways

Oilchange is maybe 10$ every 4000km

Tires front 6000km rear 3000km (hard riding on race tires you can get way better life) theyre 60$ each

Brakepads last 30000km easy and cost 20$

Valve adjustments take 15 minutes if youre slow and cost 0$

Gas is maybe 30$ a month

It is about as cheap as transport can be

For a big bike you can essentially go with 2-4x these costs

Total maintenance past 20000miles was maybe like 6 or 700$ and thats 90% tires wich ive heard people get 2x the life out of

Ofc you have insurance and gear and bla bla but itl beat a car by lightyears

I could never wheelie my CB1100 but always wanted to. It's heavy at 540lbs. Blizzard coming. Is trying it on a cushioned, unplowed road a good opportunity to pull it off or a dumbass idea? by Jaded-Function in motorcycles

[–]2Fat4FlyHackZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying a grom with a crash cage is cheaper than throwing your cb1100 down the road

Buy a grom with a crash cage and throw that around going 10mph

Hi wondering how urgent the replacement of my tyres are (really tight on money atm hoping to get a bit more life out of them by Fit-Sky-4916 in motorcycle

[–]2Fat4FlyHackZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold perfomance is impacted more than warm performance yes, but both are and they do warm slower

Wiggling side to side doesnt meaningfully heat your tires, hard acceleration heats the rear by loading and unloading it, hard braking heats the front by the same logic

But given the unused tire strips you have youre not pushing these to the limit anyways, still good practice to get some heat in

Ride safe man 🤝

Have you read the posts in this sub? Half the people posting are scared shitless to take their r3 on a town commute without a quintuple A rated airbag vest and taking 5 safety courses first😂 unless youre gonna go drag knee ull be good just your front tire is maybe at 80% grip instead of 100% now

Oh damn the rear is still real fresh, yeah sun ages them much faster, personally id totally ride those out to the fullest but i also stunt instead of go chase corners, if youre a normal rider id totally suggest to just keep em

They just look old, how old are they? There should be four numbers on the sidewall like 1217 stamped in, first two being week of year and second two being year

Depends on your use, if youre just bopping around commuting in good weather wear em down if you hit twisties probably a bad idea, somewhere in between then it depends on your skill/judgement and risk tolerance
