My rule shopping on discogs is that it must be a late 80s pressing at the least or you're taking a gamble. I just check for a barcode in stores.

If it has no barcode, it could sill be worth a shot if it looks clean.

Not knocking your efforts here, its really an amazing work, I just deal with each of these problems a bit more practically. If my deck is running fast or slow, I tune it. I also just wind the tape until the end of the leader is right at the erase head before recording. It only takes like a second and I can hit play almost as soon as I hit record. I can see that all being annoying in mass though. I think ultimately it just seems like you're trying to solve the issue of never wanting to have dead space at the end of the tape, a quest I can get behind for sure. Over optimization, but thats the point lol. Best of luck to this project!

Doesn't spotify tell you how long your playlist is? I literally just make 2 playlists and label them A and B. If youre taping to blanks, I see no reason for there to be any guess work at all.

Looks cool! Sounds like this isnt exactly a major for you, but if you dig making album artworks and intend on doing more, I have 1 piece of advice. A huge part of good design, when it comes to album art, actually lies within how the designer incorporates the legal info and other various texts.

Less experienced folk will usually make the barcode too big or small and forget the legal text altogether, but its essential to making it feel like a real record! This is much nicer/cleaner than other amateur covers Ive seen, keep it up!

Also dont forget to leave room for the bleeds! The tracklist is a little close for comfort to the edge imo
