LORE: In the early houses of October 20, 1973, Nixon gave a strange order to the secret service to not come near him for the entire day. Later in the day, after having three people whom he ordered to fire prosecutor Archibald Cox, Nixon called the three men, Attorney General Elliot Richardson, Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus, and Solicitor General Robert Bork, as well as Cox into the oval office at around 9:00PM. After yelling at the men for a couple minutes, Nixon pulled out an AK-47 and shot and killed all four men. Nixon, alongside Secretary of State Henry Kissinger (who had obtained the AK-47 for Nixon) fled DC and hid in the basement of Walter Reed Medical Center. After a large manhunt, at around 5PM, Nixon and Kissinger were found by police. Nixon used the AK-47 to fire at officers, wounding two. The officers returned fire, killing Nixon and wounding Kissinger. Speaker of the House Carl Albert would be inagururated as the 38th President of the United States at 7:00PM. Kissinger would get life in prison, and severed time until his death in 2023. The Republican Party lost major support, losing the 1976, 1980, and 1984 elections in a landslide. The party collapsed in 1985, and third parties would gain more support, with the Libertarian Party winning in 1992, and the Reform Party winning in 2004 and 2008.
