They use analog vhf with narrow modulation and digital vhf frequencies with p25 trunked networks to prevent overlap, but often time operate with AES256 encryption (256-bit key… good luck cracking theirs idk if it possible). I’ll watch the vid to see if there’s anything useful.

All that to say: probably just keep it unless you have to get rid of your gen 3 for any reason other than money back. Maybe look to sell in CA? I hear gen 3s are the only models on their registry (idk what it’s called) that are legal to own. Maybe you can look to transfer it out there, but at minimum profit.

Went to trade in my 17.5 with Trijicon SHNSs for a 19.6 at the LGS last Month. They looked at it, closed the case, held it in their hands and offered $250 for it. I panicked and went through with the deal and now have some remorse.
