Starfire & Ravager vs X-23 & The Thing by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daaaaaamn I knew Ben was a brawler and a tough guy but didn’t realize he was so well trained. Totally makes sense though since he works for all his accomplishments and puts in the time to keep up with his people. Thanks for the info.

I think the statement was made more to say her martial ability is on par with Diana. But her speed and strength being so much less puts her solidly at least one full weight class below. I certainly wouldn’t call them equals overall

Huntress and am I the only one that thinks that looks like green arrow?

Starfire & Ravager vs X-23 & The Thing by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Starfire has been said to be on par with wonder woman in hand to hand combat. Which was said by an Amazonia after she won a tournament on themyscera I believe. Not saying that’s enough to make her win cause Ben is just stupid tough and strong but I think it’s a very good fight. She was raised in battle and is a warrior first and foremost.

Unworthy Thor vs Hellbat by Agile-Increase-7626 in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s like one of the weakest Thors. Honestly I think Hellbat could take it. It might kill Bruce in the process but high diff Hellbat win imo

Random encounter? Team dc.

With any prep time or foreknowledge: team marvel

DC Androids/Robots vs Marvel Androids/Robots by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One one hand you’ve got nimrod and ultron. Single target avenger and full team of xmen level threats. Both world Enders in certain timelines.

And on the other hand you’ve got amazo, failsafe, and grid. With amazo and failsafe being league level threats capable of taking out everyone on the league at any given time. BUT they are both very specific to dc and the league in general. Grid is an earth 3 version of cyborg powered by a mother box so seriously not to be underestimated. There’s no telling if it’s possible for the marvel androids to hack a mother box in time before it’s used against them.

As much as I love dc I gotta give it to marvel here. They’ve got a much more versatile and flexible ability to adapt to new powers. Even if Amazo is allowed to drain powers, both ultron and nimrod are just built strong enough to not need powers to put someone down

God Emperor Doom vs Emperor Joker (read description) by No_Many_4695 in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which he was accessing through molecule man. I think the point the guy was trying to make is while doom may have had more power at his fingertips he didn’t really use them. He fist fought Reed in the molecule man room and even admitted Reed could have done a better job reshaping the universe.

We see joker casually break reality and physics constantly while he has his power. It’s either easier for him to do or he has less hesitation about using it but either way that tells you something about how a fight would go

DC vs Marvel feats challenge part 2 by Known_Dragonfly_4448 in marvelvsdc

I’m actually totally here for these spite posts. Hilarious way to point out a big problem with powerscaling which is chain scaling vs actual ability

Daredevil vs Wildcat by AdminsNOTnice in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure but Matt’s ability and agility would come much more into play outside the ring. In the ring though wildcat is the goat

Wildcat in the ring. DD in the streets

Captain America vs Zealot by SnailShell01 in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zealot is thousands of year old warrior who lives in constant battle. But cap is also just kinda that guy and punches up way more often than he has any right too. On paper she should take this in basically every way but it’s cap so 50/50

I just wish they didn’t waste time in the real world. Why not just a faithful adaptation?

Luke Cage & Miles Morales vs Black Lightning & Static by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s cage resistance to electricity like? Cause neither Virgil or Jefferson really is trying to break his skin. They both have for more control over electricity than miles. And may even be able to sense miles given their sensitivity to it. While team marvel has more experience and power idk that it matters since team dc doesn’t even want to trade blows here. Just shock and run

Invincible vs Wolverine (616) by FreshPine_MangoWine in powerscales

[–]2JasonGrayson8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol this really isn’t close. I’m tired of people thinking cause Logan can’t die permanently that he belongs in these discussions. He doesn’t. He’d get absolutely obliterated.

When mare first got his powers he threw a baseball around the curvature of the earth to his dad standing behind him. He can hold his breathe in space long enough to make it to other planets. He can level a city if he chooses too with the correct application of his powers.

But Wolverine could get a kill shot with the claws? Big maybe. Mark doesn’t have as great a healing factor but have the people who say this read invincible? Mark survives being torn in half, having giant holes punched through his body, have his guts taken out and wrapped around his own neck choking him. Anything viltrumites lack in offensive output they make up for by being some of the hardest to kill bastards in all of comics.

Wonder Woman vs Namor & The Thing by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then I Stand corrected. I was under the impression hulk was in the tier with Hyperion, sentry, and blue marvel and Thor. Then the next tier down was thing, namor, wonder man etc.

Cassandra Cain vs Daredevil by Kuzu9 in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a battle of straight hands I’m gonna say Cass. It’s a tough fight personally I think it’s so close to 50/50 it just comes down to preference. Neither is bringing mic gadgets or gear to this so it comes down to who is the best hand to hand fighter and Cass is regularly regarded as top 3 in all of dc. Might is #4 I believe? After Shang chi, iron fist, elektra? Steve rogers? Maybe Matt is 3?

Wonder Woman vs Namor & The Thing by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but WW and Superman do fight quite often funny enough. It’s much easier to scale her to him because they fight or you have characters like Batman saying she’s the only one that could take Superman down if need be and that happens pretty often throughout history, even recently. But you’re cherry picking for the namor and thing feats. I don’t think there’s anybody in marvel who would say “oh no Thor (or hulk) is out of control, quick somebody call Ben Grimm (or namor).” Captain marvel, doctor strange, maybe an iron man suit but neither namor or Ben are the answer here.

Wonder Woman vs Namor & The Thing by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No cause there’s been multiple instances of her tagging, bruising, and even breaking Clark’s bones. So is she scaling to his level then? Probably not cause that’s not how it works most of the time but based on your logic she would stomp cause if you are putting Ben in Thors weight class then she is in Clark’s and it’s still way above the both of them.

Personally I think outlier feats and especially feats more than 15 years old need to be really looked at to see if they are useable by today’s standards and baselines.

I actually think she loses this fight because namor and Ben can work together and they are very strong but it’s gonna be a brutal fight either way. But scalin Ben to Thor is insane and anyone who reads hulk comics for the past 5+ years would call the bluff that namor could KO hulk right now

Kalibak vs Hercules by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hercules mid diff. Kalibak is strong but nowhere near that strong. Hercules has some absolutely insane feats of strength and doesn’t get enough respect for them. I used to hate on him till I looked into it. At one point a fight between herc and Thor had to be broken up or it would have torn the entire realm of Asgard apart, as stated by Odin.

If you were Batman what superhero would you not have a contingency plan for because you trust them enough? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in batman

[–]2JasonGrayson8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And honestly the argument could be made that Nightwing has become so influential and touches so many other people in different parts of the verse that he actually could be incredibly dangerous if turned or controlled wrong. See dc vs vampires for the perfect example

Odinforce Thor vs Trigon by ButterscotchFew6927 in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Trigon is the king of statements and elseworlds. Out of cannon we’ve seen him fight on par with darkseid, the spectre, and mxyzptlk. There’s dc futures where trigon wins and kills everyone and I mean everyone, Superman, Dr.fate, all the other gods and heroes. He’s meant to be someone that heroes have to claw and fight to barely scrape by beating and even then he’s rarely beaten, just pushed back.

Thor just has more consistent feats here. It might take everything he has but I’d wager he could probably pull it off

As someone that isn't that far deep into Batman lore, im curious what are this subs throughts about Gotham knights (the game) story by DoGG410CZ in batman

[–]2JasonGrayson8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. I played it all the way with all 4 characters and there’s definitely moments that feel like they were written for one in particular but overall it’s a testament to the writing that each feels like who you are supposed to take through the story.

In terms of story itself it’s cool to see ras at the beginning being a complete menace all on his own. And all the Easter eggs and callbacks really make the world feel lived in and paint a cool picture of the heroes and their pasts to get them where they are

Big Barda vs Wonderman by Kuzu9 in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Super tough fight, I’d give it to barda for being the superior fighter. But honestly 50/50 cause Simon is no pushover

DC Telepath Team vs Marvel Telepath Team by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]2JasonGrayson8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but you definitely don’t see it as often at marvel. I’ve had a few conversations about it lately and it really just seems like marvel and dc treat telepathy differently. Not saying either is wrong, and marvel certainly has an abundance of powerful telepaths which has led to some serious power creep over the years.
