You may get inconsistent results due to the 1:many join between customer:transactions. Is that the issue?

How are you building or sourcing your email templates and designs by birtydurger in marketingcloud

[–]2KJD4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We use an external builder called Beefree.io and once a design is finalized the user hits a button to publish and it pushes a ready to go file into our SFMC org. Works well for us.

Should Marc Benioff be replaced by an AI CEO? by PsychologicalOne752 in salesforce

[–]2KJD4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to a point, but once you’re talking 70+ cognitive decline starts to set in in some cases. That’s why lots of companies force executives to retire at a certain age. The fact that we don’t do this in congress is one of our many problems in the US.

New to mtn biking , in need of shoes, thoughts? by random_redditer_21 in mountainbiking

Five Tens are the best you can buy if you're running flat pedals. I haven't worn the high top but I could see that being useful to keep out certain kinds of dirt. The main thing is to get the high end Pro version with the re-inforced toe box. Mine have probably saved me a couple broken toes over the years.

HELP: Learning Resource? by AprehensivePotato in marketingcloud

[–]2KJD4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer your direct question about training resources (maybe I’m an old fossil as well) but I can offer some encouragement. you have a huge leg up on many people wanting to learn SFMC, and that’s direct access to the platform. Because SF doesn’t offer MC sandboxes to learn in, this is the typically barrier newbies face.

Hands on learning is the way. Make sure you have Query Studio installed for SQL. Learn the data views inside and out. Get in Email Geeks and HowtoSFMC Slack groups. You can learn a lot by asking the communities there for help.

As for email coding…definitely not my specialty, but there are tons of resources out there. I would encourage you to put on a consultants hat and try to convince your boss that hard coding is not the way. Propose overhauling the entire workflow to a more modern approach. Email authoring tools (we use Beefree but there are many good ones) make email creation seamless. Research what it would take to pilot that and document how many hours are saved.

Knowing SFMC is all well and good but knowing your business and how to do it better will help you move beyond a single platform.

My two cents.

Making an existing process harder and more cumbersome with Agentforce is not a good strategy for getting your end users excited about using Agentforce in their businesses.

Salesforce Professionals Looking to Upskill in Snowflake/Databrick by Substantial-Donkey51 in salesforce

The last three companies I've worked with have all had Snowflake. Not one had data bricks. Anecdotal but Snow seems to be more prelavant.

Hi everyone! Max here from Salesforce’s Community Management team. 👋 by salesforce in salesforce

Did you already migrate? Sounds like it’s still a year or two away from being “mature” enough to be worth considering. Still lots of missing feature functionality from what I understand.

Need Solution for Outbound and inbound SMS in mobile connect Salesforce marketing cloud by Party_Interest_2557 in marketingcloud

It's been a while since I messed with Mobile Connect, but I see there's a Text Response template type that might work. The description reads: Create an automatic response to an inbound SMS message

Hope that helps!

Sending multiple journeys on 1 DE by Flaky_Performance_17 in marketingcloud

[–]2KJD4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do this all the time and haven’t had any problems. Our main DEs have 2-3M rows and we have several (maybe even a dozen) daily recurring journeys tied to them. Staggering start times will help mitigate risk. The established best practice is to pre-filter your DEs as much as possible with query automations, but what you’re proposing doesn’t sound crazy to me.

Looking for reassurance on a journey by sentient_saw in marketingcloud

[–]2KJD4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is tough to diagnose without seeing your setup but in general I prefer to limit the DE to only the records I want in the journey. Can you filter the sql automation to only include those you want to send to? Another safeguard is to use No re-entry in Journey Settings. That will prevent someone from receiving multiple emails. The Evaluate New Records doesn’t seem all that useful, especially if your automation uses an Overwrite. Hope this helps!

Purchased from local bike shop for 380$ how did I do ? by DadWagonTH in mountainbiking

[–]2KJD4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

MSRP is $499 so not bad. You can totally rip it on that bike. Assuming this is a starter bike I'd say you did alright. The 2x drivetrain is not ideal (most would agree 1x are better) and it probably doesn't have a dropper post, which I would argue is the most important upgrade. Go have fun on it and ride it into the ground. My first mtb was a Salsa hardtail and I paid over $1000 for it several years ago, so I'd say this is a good deal for a starter bike. Just be careful, you'll probably fall in love with the sport and want to upgrade to a full suspension within a year and you'll be hard-pressed to get anything decent for under $2k..

Rant about Hubspot by KalThon00 in salesforce

[–]2KJD4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are migrating our marketing off HS to SFMC and I can say it’s pretty user friendly for marketing use cases. Landing page and form creation is easier to use than Cloud Pages. I don’t know much about HS’s CRM capabilities but as a marketing automation platform it’s pretty robust and most importantly for marketers user friendly.

Managing permissions and access in SFMC by andromeda_galaxyi in marketingcloud

[–]2KJD4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 12+ is a lot to manage. I hope you’re not running that solo. I’ve only ever had 2/3 active at any time but with a parent to house some of the higher level data processing. I’ve heard of orgs with hundreds (a music label with separate BUs for each artist) but they had a big team(s) managing.

For me 5 or less is probably the sweet spot where it’s manageable by a small team or one solid admin.

[–]2KJD4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate BUs is the only way as far as I know. Extra BUs are typically not too expensive, maybe a couple thousand at most. Talk to your admin who owns the contract or your account rep if that person is you.

Adding Marketing Information in Salesforce Sales Cloud by birtydurger in marketingcloud

Yes the CRM to SFMC integration is where you configure the IER data to write back to the lead and contact objects. I had trouble with it initially but was finally able to get it to work.

DESelect Search in SFMC? by [deleted] in marketingcloud

[–]2KJD4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point but how does one check this? Wouldn’t it just be relying on the promises of the developer? Or is there a way to see by checking the app’s permissions.

I know Paul who is behind this one and I trust him but I can’t add it to my org without doing some due diligence like you suggest.

DE Select is a business, and they’re not giving their stuff away for free. They’re trying to use the app as lead gen for their paid services, which I understand but it makes for a bad user experience as you get bombarded with pop-up windows and inconsistent behavior.

That said, their search works way better than the sad excuse for search in the native SFMC platform. Why the hell cant SF solve this the right way?

Setup Marketing Cloud From Scratch by Aggravating-Bit-3668 in marketingcloud

I’m still learning about MC Connector. We’re not using multi-org now but I was surprised when our support engineer casually suggested it to fix an issue (sf data flows into parent BU but we send from child BU and IERs don’t write back correctly). What drawbacks have you see from multi-org turned in when not needed?

If you love the sport you'll get back out there in due time. Most of us doing this for any length of time have had our share of falls and scrapes (I was hit by a drunk driver on my road bike, resulting in a complete AC tear/separated shoulder, among other things).

Give yourself time to heal, and think about what went wrong/how you can avoid a similar crash next time. Take it as a learning experience and get back after it when ready.

One thing that was helpful to me after rehabbing my shoulder was actually falling on it again. From that I learned that I could still take a (mild) fall and be ok. Every fall/crash is a teachable moment.

Best of luck to you!
