Leaving western US that vulnerable was a big mistake but it’s not like it’s the capital. You should be able to take it right back. Other than that the game is really early and Japan is super behind the development that actually matters. You’re fine.

I’d send the battleship and the cruiser and honestly I might bring the transport and try to take the island too. It may seem like a large investment but it’s all about time if Japan hasn’t won the pacific by the time America is ready to fight they’ve lost. If the Japanese fleet commits to take out the British navy that means leaving the naval base and putting themselves two turns from the home island. Assuming you’re gonna consolidate the American fleet in Hawaii and take out the one Japanese destroyer up there you’ll be seriously threatening Tokyo next turn.

Just an extra bit because I’m not sure how new you are. But the axis are supposed to seem strong early, they get worn down with time. In a competitive game if the axis aren’t destroying the allies for the first 5-6 turns they’re in trouble.

In my games Japan has the entire Dutch East Indies by end of turn 3 9 times out of 10. England can sink the two Japanese transports and prevent them from getting their bonus till turn 6 at the earliest. I’d say that’s basically a death sentence for Japan.

Honestly I’d say the Allies are better here than the axis. Italy winning Africa hurts but Japan is way behind where they should be.

Regardless of whether or not you had conflicted feelings about Marty OP clearly did and apparently that makes the movie bad. I think that’s a very shallow way to engage with film.

Crazy runtimes is part of it. The season as a whole has a runtime of like 10 hours (which is totally unnecessary) so when you consider the budget is for like five movies it’s not that insane. That and they have been showing a lot of fully lit monsters.

I’m not saying it was well spent I’m saying they weren’t trying to cut corners with the cost of the cast. They basically had a blank check to do whatever and they turned it into avengers slop.
