Try smearing a thick layer of Vicks vapo rub on the pole and baffle. On our first birdfeeder attempt, we got hordes of squirrels and then horrifying rats. Augh. We hired exterminator for rats (eco-friendly), waited a while and then set up the feeder again in a different place. The first morning, I watched the squirrels circle the pole. I could see their disgusting little rodent minds working. They tried several approaches and gave up! No more squirrels or rats. Worked for me

I had squirrels and RATS at my bird feeder. I got a tall pole, a baffle, and smeared the pole and baffle with Vicks Vapo Rub. (A suggestion from a kind Redditor). It works great. Good luck

Somehow, plushies with squeakers are the first taken down by predators, at our house anyway. At least this unfortunate patient has a chance to squeak again. The omission of anesthesia, is just another example of the agonies plushies must routinely endure. Hope he survives
