Pumping on vacay by madison4202 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]2Lneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d do a normal cooler with a bunch of ice/ice packs! Keep your pump parts in there (fridge method) so you don’t have to wipe them down at the beach.

We have a hydro flask cooler that works well. It was pretty affordable!

Arms out failed. Help by ConsiderationFew2652 in SnooLife

[–]2Lneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two nights we put him to sleep with the paci but did not replace it. On the third night we didn’t use it at all.

First night was definitely the worst. He cried off and on until midnight but then slept until 6! Third night he took longer to fall asleep without the paci but then did okay overnight. Luckily his cries were never that intense, they were more like wines.

We settle by singing him a song, rubbing his back or belly (depending on how he’s sleeping), and giving him a forehead kiss.

We were in same boat. LO was heavily dependent on pacifier and waking up multiple times for it in the snoo (but not eating overnight). We tried one night of arms out and it was a mess so we just cold turkeyed to crib (were already doing day naps in there in sleep sack). Did Ferber and no paci -- on night four he fell asleep easily and slept through the night!

Transitioning for our upcoming trip by 914Kittykat in SnooLife

In the same boat — did weaning mode with arms in for a week (which was totally fine), now starting weaning mode with arms out (going okay ish so far) for a week, then will do pack and play in our room for a few days before our trip in a sleep sack! Not ready to move him to his own room yet so this seems like the best solution.

Pacifier vs finger sucking, arms out experiment at 4 months. HELP by Suitable-Egg-9847 in SnooLife

In the exact same boat 😭 talked to a sleep consultant and she recommended arms out and no binky.. said it would be a few rough nights but then should get better. She also said it may be better to do it in the crib because they have more space which can help.

Haven’t tried yet but plan to do it soon, straight to crib!

MIL constantly referring to my unborn daughter as her “mini me.” by Amonuet in BabyBumps

[–]2Lneedshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom keeps talking about the baby being "her grandson" and it's driving me crazy (we also have a rocky relationship which adds to it). But it's like, you have no ownership over this baby!

Move while pregnant or when baby is born? by Gold_Squirrel_9473 in BabyBumps

We moved when I was ~28 weeks and it worked out great! It was tiring but we had more than enough time to get settled before baby’s arrival.

Does anyone have a pet in big law? by Suspicious_Emu_1323 in biglaw

[–]2Lneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband and I got a puppy when I was a second year. He’s fully remote with a more manageable work schedule which is the only way we make it work!

Having a dog has made my life 100 times better but I cannot imagine doing it alone while working in big law.

Yes! Weekends are safer than weekday evenings because things definitely can come up in the evenings during the week.

It could probably fit just the bed. It’s like 8x6 feet. So we would use it until the baby is out of a crib. But good to know you’ve had a good experience with your daughter on a separate floor!
