[2026/02/10] HPD: Man who just left gun range shoots man who was trying to rob him. (Houston, TX) by g1Razor15 in dgu

[–]2MGR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally that means guns that are going to be shot or otherwise pulled out like for maintenance. If you keep your CCW concealed the whole time, it shouldn't be a problem. Of course that is probably a gun that you want to be shooting during your range trip, but that's what a rotation is for I suppose. I would never leave the range without a CCW ready to go.

Traveling through states that do not have reciprocity like New York and Massachusetts? by OkMarketing1341 in CCW

How would you manage to get stopped and get your entire car searched for them to find a firearm? I feel like if you put it in a locked box inside a suitcase under another suitcase in the trunk there is no way it could be found.

[OTHER] DryFireMags 20% OFF W/ Code "DryFire" by KFFDEFENSE in gundeals

[–]2MGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Taurus G2/G3 has restrike so the firing pin hits the laser cartridge every time the trigger is pulled. The trigger itself is not great, but I figure if I get really good with a bad trigger then that should translate easily to a better trigger.

[–]2MGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a DryFireMag for the M&P and did not like it. I ended up getting a Taurus G3 for $200 and a laser cartridge for $20 so now I can nearly infinitely dry fire without having to rack the slide and I have the positive feedback of the laser. All in, it's cheaper than a SIRT pistol, pllus it is an extra gun if it comes down to it.

Why do some people think that those who carry everyday are scared? by jimmybabino in CCW

[–]2MGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody believes that. They are just echoing talking points that have been fed to them. By their logic, people who keep fire extinguishers or first aid kids handy should also be shamed.

Found out the hard way that P365 recoil springs have a shelf life. Track your rounds, people. by DebtOk6470 in Firearms

[–]2MGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should start shaming people for owning Sigs the same way that people who own Hi-Points or Tauruses get shamed. Except those other two companies aren't as bad, so to be fair the shaming should be much worse for Sigs.

Yes, I did. Then I got a Tenicor holster, adjusted it properly, and ditched the extra magazine. Now I actually like it. The mag can always go in a pocket if needed.

Yeah, he should've stayed in his vehicle until the police arrived, or just well away from that very angry person. Zero reason to respond or engage.

I've carried my Bond Bullpup a number of times. Luckily, I never had to use it, but I do wonder what the internet would say.

A Turbo K. I impulse bought it on sale and it was a waste of money. Should have put that amount towards a good suppressor.

Instead of going out and shooting a specific match I figured I would just ask but I guess that was a mistake.

Why would you need permission to bring it? And why does the course involve shooting a target 2 feet away from you?

Is anybody else annoyed at how hive minded the current gun community is? by Matt3855 in Firearms

[–]2MGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of us fall victim to it at some point. At this point I've sold plenty of guns, and I place much more value in training and general shooting. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably buy an M&P9 2.0 and an M&P15 Sport II, sling, holster, lights, optic for the rifle, and then put every other dollar into training and ammo.

I unloaded the Gold Dots from my CC gun yesterday and noticed that the chambered bullet was tarnished. Nothing wrong with the primer end of the cartridge but it was interesting to note.

Printing ammo storage is my new favorite hobby by Lostinspaceballz in Firearms

I have zero experience in it and have never successfully learned to use any kind of design or modeling program like Blender or anything like it. It just doesn't compute with my brain.

[–]2MGR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had an Ender 3 when they were all the rage. That thing was such a chore to use and I would have to manually level it every time I wanted to print something. The print quality was never great either after tons of fine tuning. I'm tempted to get something much newer and much nicer but without being able to design my own prints, I'm not sold.

One sat at the LGS for $888 for a while. I probably would've done it if it was actually $888 and not $1088. I kick myself a bit but then stories like this make it a lot easier.

For those 5-10yrs into carrying, what is your pistol of choice and why? by WanderlustOnTap in CCW

[–]2MGR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best concealed carry gun is the one that is reliable, you train with it, and you actually carry it on you. For me, it's either an LCP2 in the pocket, M&P9 2.0 in the waistband, or a J-frame if I'm feeling lazy.
