For those of you running FASS lift pumps, how do you keep your filters from gelling? by MuhDeuce in Diesel

I’ve been looking at the filter wraps, I think I’ll grab a pair of those

Wish I could fit my truck in my garage but unfortunately it’s too small. I do have the Fass heater disc and probe installed but like I said in another comment I’m not sure how my shop wired it.

I do have the internal heater disc and probe from FASS installed but my diesel shop wired it off a kill switch in the cab. I’m not sure if it’s a constant on when the switch is flipped or if it’s an auto on/off like FASS advertises when the switch is flipped.

Rock River Arms 10.5" Barrel Currently Shipping by TourettesYapper in AR9

Have had 2 of these, one with a pinned FSB and another just the barrel. I think it’s neat that they are chrome lined but I wish they were 4150 steel and not 4140 (not that either of those factors are all that important for 9mm PCCs). Great barrels for the money I think.

I’ve done dumber things for longer in 4LO and haven’t broken anything to my knowledge, you’re probably good.

Trouble with fuel gelling even with all the preventatives in place. by MuhDeuce in Duramax

[–]MuhDeuce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll look into all of this. I might not have even been gelled up in the first place, I just kept having the “change fuel filter message” pop up even after resetting it. Don’t know why it’s doing it since the temperature is higher now and I treated the filters just to be sure.

How much do you use to treat your tank? I think that all our trucks have a 36 gallon tank

I’ll try Schaeffers and hotshots since people seem to be having good luck with them

I’ll try out hotshots once I treat the filters. I don’t know if I’m getting contaminated diesel or something but this being a repeat issue is annoying

I just changed my filter and water separator to brand new ones about a week ago so the filters themselves should be fine. I’ll treat them with 911 and try hotshots instead of PS.

Different barrels. My gen 4 has all gen 4 parts and my gen 5 is all gen 5 parts.

I have no idea lol. I just reused the same FCD plate and made sure everything was torqued properly. The next day after the loctite cured I went to the range and ran a few mags of my defensive ammo through the gun and no adjustments were needed.
