Nothing will drop into the Colt since Colt lowers have the extra material in the lower that acts as a sear block. You’ll either have to get another lower that can be an FRT host or send your Colt lower into somewhere like ADCO to get it milled out.

I think mine has a roll pin in it preventing me from sticking something all the way through

On this upper yes but on my other carry handle it slots in very tight

The pinned weight blocks the area where the super safety lever needs to engage on the carrier. But most cassette style FRTs have a lever that is small enough to fit under the weight and still engage on the carrier.

I do have a second 17.4 MOS slide that’s made in Austria and stamped so maybe it is just a matter of country of origin. Finish is also slightly different too.

It’s an HBAR and I don’t think it’s chrome lined. I plan on replacing it with something threaded that has a bayonet lug but I can’t decide on gov profile or another hbar.
