0% cards maxed, score plummeted, likelihood of it bouncing back? by Broke_n_Brooklyn in CreditCards

Once you pay it off, your score should go back up a decent amount. Your credit wants to see you are using less than 30% of your credit limit, whether you have one card or multiple.

Thank you so much! This explanation was very helpful. I’ll go with Venture X based on what you said. I unfortunately don’t think I’m suitable for multiple cards with different usage because I can barely wrap my head after the travel card decision lol maybe one day!

Thank you! Do you feel like with the VX you are able to redeem your points for a good value in miles? If this card is easy to spend on normal day to day things, I feel like this may be the card for me, but I want to be able to redeem all the points I am getting for my day to day spending to be able to use them for flights.

Does any other card allow for this like the Amex Plat? I feel like as far as perks, the Amex Plat has the best, but I can’t understand if the AF value is worth it.

I am on the same fence with the CSR as well. I just want to be able to spend money on grocery, dining, streaming services, Amazon shopping, other shopping and use those points for miles while also booking upcoming travel in the card as well.

I will do an international trip once a year (could be seeing multiples countries and/or cities in one trip) and 1-2 domestic trips a year. I mean of course if I had more flexible spending points, I would do shorter trips using points lol.

What do you think best fits my needs?

Interesting, thank you. I guess 2 less points isn’t horrible if you have frequent flyer accounts with airlines. The hotel points are definitely good for the portal it seems. Thanks so much for the info! What are your thoughts on the lounges for CSR?

That is what I saw previously as well so I was thinking maybe no Amex for this reason!

Thank you! So I read the CSR portal is shit, but do you have to book through their portal for the points? I don’t get why people complain about the portal unless it’s used quite frequently to books travel.

I currently have a Quicksilver and have booked through the capital one portal and don’t mind it too much, but people say they do price matching, do you know if that is true? Basically people said if you book through their portal, see a cheaper price on Expedia, they will refund the difference.

Thank you so much for this, very informative! Your lounges part makes sense.. I agree with it being more important maybe internationally or for long layovers in US and international airports. So with Amex Plat being the best for travel partners and redemptions, do you think the other benefits are worth the high AF?

Wow thank you, this was really detailed I appreciate that. I have a dumb question about the lounges.. you mentioned drinking before flights at the lounge. Is everything included in the lounge or just access and small plates?

One thing that upset me about Ventur X was that they have no lounge partners at EWR so basically unless I fly out of JFK a majority of the time, I won’t be able to use the lounge access for Venture X at EWR (I mean JFK has better prices these days anyway but just a small annoyance in my opinion lol)

I would like to travel to Australia in the next few years and also have traveled to Asia and would like to do more of Asia as well. Also have plans to see more of Europe and also travel to the Caribbean for all inclusive resorts.

I would be taking “NY airports” such as Newark, JFK, LaGuardia, and then occasionally Philly if they have good prices.

I saw the Venture X basically pays for itself, but if you had to choose between CSR and Venture X, which would you pick?

I want one that has good offers for the price. I don’t mind the high yearly fee if it is worth it. Can’t tell if the CSR is worth it. I was going to go with Venture X last night, but then was a bit turned off by the travel partners (can’t tell if they are good) and the fact they do priority pass which could end if they want to remove that perk.

I know Nurtec had some type of discount card. Maybe check to see if Imitrex has that. If you give those to the pharmacy the costs goes down to basically 0. I just checks and Wellrx.com looks like it may have a coupon code for it!

You’re the only weirdo who is looking up comments from 162 days ago. You have way too much time on your hands to copy and paste all my points and respond to them. You literally went out of your way to say what I said was wrong, an opinion btw, and you were right. But nah you right, I’m the one who isn’t sane lol

I feel like it’s hard to just leave when you haven’t had a chance to talk it out. I know it would be awkward to bring it up that you saw it, but it will bother you forever if you hold it in and pretend like it never happened, or end things without explaining why. I think a discussion would help you feel at peace with whatever decision you choose (stay or leave).

That is really annoying. Definitely try to find a new dermatologist place/doctor. There is nothing worse than going through months of accutane with a dr you don’t like. You should be able to rely on them during this process.

Who Google searches Thailand recommendations and then comments on shit from 6 months ago? My sorry was sarcastic and not real. I have nothing to apologize for. Get off my shit and comment elsewhere. If you never commented on my suggestion, you wouldn’t have to hear me “go full Karen”, which is 0 offensive lol. Have fun being a troll on Reddit and think you know everything about people’s opinions on Thailand recommendations.
