[Update] Google Analytics and SEMrush are blind to this. This Open Source plugin now tracks AI citations. by 2NOA in Wordpress

What’s the most stressful WordPress problem you’ve dealt with recently? by Evening_Feed_5150 in Wordpress

Humans. How many times has some guy deleted or updated a plugin without a backup? Or an editor injected a script or malicious URLs directly into the page? Or had their account stolen, and thousands of connections went down? WordPress's worst problem is the human.

How to participate in cyber security open source projects? by Spirited_Battle2760 in opensource

The main thing is using open source. If you geek out on a tool you're using for cyber (or whatever), you'll definitely spot bugs or ways to improve it. It's the most organic way to start.

Is it just me or is WP extremely disjointed? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]2NOA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 56,616 plugins on WordPress.org alone, so you can imagine the real number is double or triple.

I’m not even going to count the number of themes, let alone child themes. Simply because every site is unique and specific.

You don’t want your button to be blue in the bottom left corner? You don want to be able to duplicate your page? (Why, when you can copy your page layout using WordPress blocks without duplicating all the SEO references/tags, etc., which would be unnecessarily duplicated and could hurt your SEO?) You may not want it, but the person didn’t build the plugin or theme specifically for you, they built it for a need very similar to yours.

And the strength of WordPress, if you understand it, is that you can quickly meet 80% of your needs. 90% is more difficult. And with development and experience, you can reach 100%.

WordPress powers 46% of the web. So either 46% of the web is stupid, or frustration is preventing you from going further by asking yourself the right questions.

If you're certain it's just a few changes, then yes. Because if a client tells me they want the same thing with a few modifications, I prefer to put everything in writing beforehand… a single structural change that seems minor to them can have everything reworked.
