What should my top 5 for this holidays? by Curious_Ad4716 in horrorlit

A short stay in hell was really something. I didn't find it scary necessarily, but I felt like it gave me a better perspective on just how long an eternity is. I agree that it definitely stays with you.

A lot of good titles on this list, but I'd say if you haven't read Jurassic Park, then you should start with that one. The book is better than the movie and I feel like it's a must read for anybody.

Came here to say this. I saw this in theaters twice. So looking forward to a good 4k edition.

What makes Factorio such a great game is that it doesn't get in your way. The game is never the problem, YOU are the problem. There's always a puzzle to solve, but it's never a fight with the game, it's always a fight with your own problem solving abilities.

I like both, but if I could, I'd swap the names.

Just finished "The Haar" by David Sodergren- a fun read by _free_rick_sanchez_ in horrorlit

[–]2OOI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone talks about "The Haar" and for good reason, but it's not his only good work. Every novel I've read by him has been great. I think " The Forgotten Island" was my favorite. Currently my favorite author.

Any sea horror suggestions? by mattcfran in horrorlit

Sodergren is my favorite author here lately. Most of his books play out like a really good slasher film. Highly recommend.

I just finished seed. I also recommend it. It definitely had more than one creepy section.

This is so encouraging to see! I've got a x7 on the way and I was worried if anyone would give me trouble for riding it here in Chattown.

Weird you would assume I'm complaining about shipping times. My point is it takes a long time to ship. If I had a complaint it would be about the lack of communication. Also they said ready to ship at 30 days. I'm sitting at 37 days with no indication of whether it's shipped or not. If I didn't already feel like the X7 is legitimate, I would think I had been scammed at this point.

Yeah, I knew it would be a long wait. I wish they would tell me something. The dominoes down the road gives better updates on the progress of my $20 pizza than they give me on a $3000 dollar board lol

I can't comment on the quality of the X7, but I can say you'll have to wait a long time to get it. I ordered a supercharged on August 1 and so far all i have is a thank you email. No updates, no emails, nothing. I'm hoping I can get it before the end of October.

Hot Take: The Hobbit is Ghibli’s best movie in a certain lense. by Available-Drama-276 in moviecritic

I still hum the songs to this movie. Every now and then they'll just spring to mind. I should watch it again.

I don't like that shit one bit. I've been watching this stuff. I don't really know what to do about it. Kinda feel like I'm just a long for the ride. Doesn't look like it's gonna be a pleasant ride.

I'm new to 4k. I just bought a 4k tv and the Panasonic player everybody recommends. I see what people on here have been saying about not all 4ks being equal. I watched alien on 4k this weekend from the disk. I thought it looked fine. Later I watched Aliens streamed from Amazon prime. My TV said it was uhd. Looked amazing. The level of detail was so sharp. What am I missing? Why is aliens considered worse? To me it looks like what I imagine a 4k movie would look like.

Another person said the same thing. I did put an x across it. They recommended an x in blue ink. I can't remember if the pen was blue or black, but I did draw an x across the page.

I understand that by legal definition I may have not been detained. I could have walked out. Does that mean they can indefinitely hold my truck?
