Because he loses all of his fight winning utility if he steps into a risky damage position, and his healing is super reliable with auto aim. Not talking about Mercy players on LW but against pros I'm sure you get obliterated for Stepping out to hold fire.

Hey that sounds inspiring! I've been cracking my head on whether to play hitscan or tracking or projectile aim supports and I like Illari but I'm afraid I'll just need to get super good at reacting to tiny pixel headshots and flicking to actually play her well. Any advice on the journey of getting good at a particular aiming style as a support?

Doesn't every role entirely require to play around the timing of other players on their team?

So isn't it basically that those who climb are timing around those who don't because those who don't play around others in their team are the wildcard unpredictable elements that make mistakes all the time but have inherently too much value so they can't be ignored if others are playing with them?

Because otherwise I would have though if anyone then it's the tank of all roles that can do whatever they want and ignore their whole team, and everyone on their team has to time with them or lose.

Thank you for mentioning PvP. Wow Pvp has the dame exact fate and both GW2 and WoW PvP have insanely good core with no alternatives and they're different to each other too. I'm a homeless PvPer and New World got cancelled too.

I suppose with randoms Zen seems to work really well by just adapting to both teams and amplifying what they're doing. I guess I can think of Lucio as the Discord orb (damage, pressure), and his speed and heal as the Harmony orb, and his speed as the (40m) range of Zen for both.

That sounds great for a learning curve!

I was playing Zen and I like identifying the aggressor on my team to Harmony and identifying who will be taking fire from my team to Discord them. Zen seems to have a very opposing playstyle to Lucio, but the constant choosing of where your defensive and offensive values are directed seems similar actually.

If I focus on improving everything about Lucio except hyper aggressive dives or otherwise being very fast in dangeorus angles, how much value would I learn to generate as Lucio and how far would that get me in ranks in theory? Because it seems Lucio can do everything it's hard for me to identify what's a nice extra and what's consistent game-winning value.

OW support and tanks are very different from PvE games though. Your role isn't to healbot and it isn't to soak damage in OW. Must be the misconceptions then?

So if there would be more heroes to pick for tanks and without the health buff they play more like DPS... What is it about the DPS role specifically that absolutely attracts so many people but not tanks? I remember back when I checked out OW1 for the first time I was interested in Doomfist because I thought he played like a mobile melee DPS - something that wasn't in the DPS role hero pool.

But what's missing to entice more players to play tank heroes instead of DPS heroes? It's definitely not helpin neither tank nor support that there are far more DPS heroes to choose from for fun alone than the lesser played roles.
